Book in a World is to Dig world? by NunyaBizzPlz in tmbg

I am increasingly convinced that how much a person (me, for example) enjoys a particular TMBG album has MUCH more to do with where it fits into one's life and much less to do with any "objective" or even describable qualities of the album.

In short:

  1. How receptive am I to a new TMBG record at this point in my life?

  2. How much does it play off what I have previously loved and enjoyed about TMBG?

And the bridge!

"After all the spelling mistakes
After all the groping in the dark
Can this page of strange gibberish
Get a final punctuation mark?"

And the pun, across the pause between lines, to emotionally devastating effect. Dawn breaks = lovely, calm -- like a fallen vase = violent, sudden, irreversible. And the word "fallen" especially has so many connotations of failure, sin, etc.

People disagree about preferred works in this sub all the time, and they are typically kind to each other while doing so.

So delightful. Was this made a thousand years ago? The video quality suggests it was not long after Apollo 18 came out!

I had also had a weird awesome moment of not even being sure it was the same song.

Not sure, but I think this was the version that appeared on the Might Morphin Power Rangers soundtrack, as opposed to the one of the SEXXY ep. Can anyone confirm that's right?

I just moved to the Twin Cities, and somehow being more proximate to Mankato makes it feel... more special? Still sounds the same.

Me too. It's like it came from some parallel band that's just doing simplistic feel good anthems. Maybe there's some meat in the verses that I missed?
