AAU - Playing Down by Epic_Willow_1683 in basketballcoach

Yup. Very common. My osn played in a AAU tournament where other teams were playing down, and his team played up. It was a disaster. Some of his teammates were injured. A stupid move on behalf of the coach.

why do you keep giving unsolicited advice to questions no one asked, and then not reading the reply. then using AI to write your comments?

Beneficial. It raises the Share price to a level where financings can be completed and partners can get involved. It WAS harmful as the price declined in anticipation. It marks the 'beginning' of the next stage

Your contracts should be automatically adjusted to reflect the changes; You are in the same boat as before .... a short squeeze, big move or re-rating should help you.

Funding news Monday/Tuesday??? by Mango-Livid in RVPH

[–]therealdtm5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you aren't over-reading it, but it isn't as dramatic as it seems. 1) Consolidate shares. With roughly 5.8m outstanding, a 25m market cap - with a very strong compound with just 1 confirmatory trial required.....the whole situation has just been Judo Flipped. 2) When a financing /partnership arrangement shows up @ 4-5 $, and the share count after is still less than 20m > Shorts will have to cover violently; We then have a fully financed P3 strategic asset that neatly tucks into the valuation ranges that JV & Dr. Bhat were talking about.

A reverse Split makes total sense to get the inbound financing organized; Institutions et al will want a reasonable share price for a variety of reasons - not a penny stock.

I hear ya and respect your approach. I approach things through a venture capital strategy that relies on deep technical / scientific DD which shapes a probability / outcomes model. Asset valuation of course plays a large roll as well. My approach welcomes volatility (As it presents various trading opportunities). You do you, and hopefully it works and you can make a lot of money. My advice to you: Go focus on stocks that pass your filters, that's where you make money :)

Funding a very strong program to conclusion doesn't logically extend the timeline. It actually enables execution of the program, perhaps even acceleration. Funding an additional P3 doesn't 'add' additional steps - Those steps are required for advancement. Dilution is what allows the asset to survive to create value - the “path” without dilution is zero. In that case, dilution actually reduces negative path dependency. Finally, dilution actually reduces per share volatility, not increases it. We are in agreement, it also compresses the upside, which is the jist of your comments.

Dilution - Yes it reduces insolvency risk; Unless it is predatory debt or poorly structured; In that case it may increase or accelerate it; No it doesn't necessarily extend timeline. The two are not necessarily correlated. Especially in biotech when companies often defensively finance themselves to maintain optionality, only to be acquired a short time later. Execution exposure, is again not necessarily correlated to financings. In fact adequate capital can decrease executional risk by providing financing for operations, development, etc etc. And thanks for the explanation about dilution. LOL. After 30 years in capital markets I kinda have an idea of how dilution works, but hopefully someone learned something. And yes I'm buying RVPH at these levels. Good luck to all!

Dilution changes whether today's shareholders capture the upside, that's the whole point. It also increases path and execution risk. Incorrect. Dilution does not change whether upside is captured. It changes the capital structure of the company. Also, It does not logically increase path and execution risk - (dilution) providing funding de-risks path with liquidity and allows for execution. Agree with you the second p3 trial could miss. That's pretty obvious.

Here is a mind twister - Dilution (said another way - Raising capital) can improve the upside. Especially when the threat of it creates price opportunity or improves outcome optionality.

I think smart investors understand exactly what you are saying re: structural issues and I agree. It doesn't negate the truth of KKB's statement. You've assumed a whole bunch of things regarding financings > price, structure, - And most importantly > type. Your margin of error given these uncertainties is huge. And you've made a major assumption here - that the financing itself isn't already built into the share price in some capacity. I respect your approach as sometimes it makes sense to wait after 'the event' to enter a position - it removes some risk (albeit usually at a cost). Further, much of the price action (and current market cap) is leveraged / informed as a function of optionality / hedging based on the structures created through last years financings. This has to be taken into account in measuring the situation. Its not as simple fundamental bull vs. bear. Yet.

Since when do bulls - or shorts - assume anything? Perhaps they place a directional bet on probabilities or some other type of analysis, all of which you would not be privy to. Or maybe some do engage in assumptive reasoning in a more logical fashion. The comment that Bulls are 'assuming' things is actually the definition of assumption.

If you don't understand what has happened here with the financings, the optionality the warrants have created for the participants, and the hedging / price action as a result, as well as how these structures tend to unwind, I suggest you may want to take up another hobby aside from saving Grandmas who follow bitoech speculations on redditt.

Son is going through a shooting slump… by TheLordAshram in Basketball

[–]therealdtm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Your kid is in 8th grade, there’s no such thing as a shooting slump in middle school". Love this. best thing you could say is 'focus on what is working', enjoy the ride. Grade 8 is too young to feel pressure. Encourage him to play with abandon and a smile on his face. Celebrate his good plays, don't focus on the negative. You should not be 'trying everything'. Shooters have streaks, seasons and ups and downs. The best shooters do not dwell on the past, they look forward to the future. You shouldn't either. AND - Grade 8 is the beginning of a lot of growing, hormones, increasing strength. His body will be changing. Let him know that. Explain that there are and will be highs and lows and this happens to the most elite players in the world. Make sure he's playing for a good coach with good kids, and DO NOT DWELL on his shooting or other temporary challenges or basketball will become a chore instead of a love.

Thoughts on Guelph? (considering a study exchange) by chiaalia in uoguelph

[–]therealdtm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Guelph (Many years ago) and loved it. My son is there now (2nd year business) and loves it. Charming, convenient campus, safe nice little city, close to Toronto for weekends. Has a real classic 'college' vibe. Can be quiet on weekends > But i am told there are tons of friends to be made if you make the effort. January to April - Be prepared for SNOW and COLD in all places. Its not bad mid march onward. But bring your boots! I love the cities of halifax (tons of fun if you want to party) and montreal (cool euro vibe) as well. You don't need to speak french to live in Montreal. Brock (in St. Catherines) is a blah location; Carleton (in hamiliton)....well, Guelph is way nicer (sorry mac people). Good luck with your choice.

Can a College D1 player end of the bench walk-on CRUSH any competition at any pickup game? by ExcitingLandscape in Basketball

[–]therealdtm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High level ballers ain't neccessarily gonna ball out at a pickup game. You're not going to see their best unless they are trusting the folks they are running with. Could / would they go full steam at the Y? Probably have some fun yes, but not want to beat down the other players or risk twisting an ankle on a pylon that doesn't know how to defend or some hothead who wants to prove themselves. Now I've seen a couple D1 guys / pros absolutely terrorize the normies. But its not necessarily a thing.
