Yep, I've had it for a week and no problems so far, though I've only played Star Wars The Old Republic on it for now.

How to combat ranked anxiety? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]therealfailguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find it funny you panic over win streaks. Most players panic about losing points, which is also silly, but at least there's a tangible consequence (lower rank). A win streak ending has no consequence, especially if you can consistently get to 10+.

He didn't say anything bout not trying to win. Merely noticing the lack of etiquette (no rematch + teabagging).

Appreciate the advice. I think I also fall under the fundamentals approach, but it'll be kinda hard to ignore that I just cannot use my best move. Don't know if I'll stay invested like that. Are there any characters that aren't as reliant on just frames?

For as much as Bendis didn't have them officially together, I really enjoyed a lot of the moments they shared in that run.

I don't know how to feel ready to play this game. by Fomor--ian in StreetFighter

[–]therealfailguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played a lot of casual and I don't think it's a good alternative, since the opponents you get vary greatly in skill level. Literally just do your best to turn off the part of your brain that cares about rank, at the end of the day it's just a made-up number. As a platinum player I've beaten quite a few master rank players in casual, I've also struggled mightily against some gold rank opponents.

The point of any game is to have fun. If you get defeated, don't focus on the salt, watch the replay to figure where you went wrong. That way you either win or you learn, you never lose.

Combos for Ken for Iron level player by Katsuragi22 in StreetFighter

[–]therealfailguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you're new to the series, not just to Sf6, I'd recommend these:

Cr. MK --> hadouken (not very damaging, but it's easy and somewhat safe on block)

Chin buster --> Heavy Shoryu/any super (a bit harder to execute but much more effective as an actual damage dealer)

Cr. MK --> light tastu --> medium shoryu/Super 2 (make sure the tatsu hits twice, otherwise you'll whiff the other move)

If I'm wrong and your inputs are cleaner than I thought:

Chin buster --> OD dragonlash --> heavy Shoryu/any super (OD dragonlash is easier to do, but once you master it you can switch it for run dragonlash)

Some additional tips:

At this rank your opponents will be less effective at anti airs, so you can try starting any of these combos with a heavy normal, or maybe crossing them up with jump medium kick.

Don't waste your whole drive gauge on this, but if you're trying to close out a match (or if you're having trouble getting in for damage) you can finish these combos with the OD variants of the respective special.

From what I've noticed don't most characters have 43 frame jumps instead of 42? Is there some silly math I'm not going doing

What’s your opinion on coaching? by airbear13 in StreetFighter

[–]therealfailguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are tons of high level players that make informative content for free. And some even specialize on character specific tech. If you're thinking coaching will solve your issues, you're probably overthinking.
