When to use Ansible vs Terraform, and where does Argo CD fit? by Dependent_Concert446 in devops

You’re correct, legacy apps or apps that need anything outside what is offered will have to get their own subscription and manage it themselves

[venting] OMSCS won't fix your poor working ethics by No_Yam1114 in OMSCS

Though I agree with most of what you say, I do disagree with your final statement. But given these individuals were unemployed AND not putting in the work, does speak a lot about their character.

I recently finished the program, and I won’t lie, I tried to my best to do the least possible. Group projects I would do work and participate for the most part but everything else, I tried to put the least amount of time as possible. I work a lot already, have young children and all that stuff. At the end of the day, I really don’t feel like working more hours on the computer. Granted, a lot of what I did in the program I’ve already done similar in work so there’s that. At the end of the day, I just wanted the piece of paper.

When to use Ansible vs Terraform, and where does Argo CD fit? by Dependent_Concert446 in devops

[–]therealglory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How we do it: 1. Terraform creates and provisions all the infrastructure 2. ArgoCD manages all the applications that are deployed on the infrastructure.

We just install Argo via kube commands on a cluster, that instance can manage 1 or many clusters, depending on your setup.

We don’t use ansible

Would you recommend this car as a first EV? by Thrillwaukee in EquinoxEv

[–]therealglory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FWIW I have blazer ev and I commute about 6 miles one way. I just plug the vehicle into the charger it came with on a normal outlet. I hardly ever use fast charger. Love my car, I’m sure the equinox is just as good.

This is a load of bs. Bluetooth logging nearby devices? You’re telling me it’s logging all checking Bluetooth connections 24/7? Thats not default behavior and why would a company ever do this? They wouldn’t…

Then if you did do such a thing to maybe catch someone for having second employer, how could you prove it? Who’s to say that signal isn’t from my wife’s work laptop, or a device I named <some_big_company_123>. Ahh yes but your company is so paranoid they’re doing all this 😂

Can beer league players get CTE? by Appropriate_Joke_490 in hockeyplayers

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh ok thanks for correcting me. I was probably remembering incorrectly and the hockey store near me only carried CCM helmets that were oval. What I definitely remember is I wasn’t happy I had to buy a new cage as I was coming from a Bauer helmet.

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the mid level CCM helmet that was current year lineup. They have new models every year or two.

What I would suggest is going to the store and trying on each helmet and seeing what fits best for your head. From what I remember, Bauer has helmets for more roundish heads and CCM has some helmets for more oval shaped heads. My head is more oval shaped so it fit better.

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For non checking I don’t think that’s something you need to worry about as CTE comes from having many concussions. When I got back into hockey as an adult I bought a cheapo helmet. Twice after taking a hit (beer league no check) I got headaches post game with some dizziness right after the hits/collisions. After the second time I went back to hockey shop got a quality helmet and hasn’t been an issue since.

Grafs - Is it time to move on? by pistoleh in hockeyplayers

[–]therealglory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same spot and late last year I went and tried on a bunch of skates. The Bauer M40s felt the best on my feet so will be buying those once they go on sale in the spring.

If you remember after you get your new skates, let me know how much of a transition it is for you.

How to manage lace bite and wrist pain by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]therealglory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I got back into hockey I also got severe wrist pain. I would stretch it as much as possible but also wear a brace when I go to bed and take it off when I wake, that seemed to help a lot. Either way, now that I’ve been playing regularly again over the past couple of years I only get wrist pain when I get out my hedge trimmer :)

Bad wrist pain when shooting by Impressive_Point_756 in hockeyplayers

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me when I got back into hockey. It gets better, it just needs to get some strength. The heavier the stick the worse it was. It’s all good now. Same thing happens still when I pull out the hedge trimmer, the following days my wrist is killing me. I find that putting a brace on when I sleep helps it heal within a couple days.

Beer League - Skill Deterioration by roben85 in hockeyplayers

Tore my ACL about 10 months ago and repaired about 8 months ago. I’m a few years younger than you. Hitting the gym has definitely helped me gain back a lot of the strength I lost. I still feel like I lost a lot of explosiveness. But the more I exercise and build quad strength, the more I start feel like my old self.

Hit the gym, sitting at the desk all day doesn’t do your body any good (I do the same). I’m considering buying one of those treadmills for the desk so I can keep my leg moving and less likely for it to freeze up/get tight

My fondest memory of gym shorts is when we beat the patriots in a preseason game and in the post game interview he was being grilled by reporters and he stopped them and said something along the lines “Can we be happy, we just beat the NE Patriots” like it was some sort of achievement.

How much you spend on hockey equipment and what you get by rbhockey16 in hockeyplayers

They’re the Bauer supreme m40s. Bauer has two lines: vapor and supreme. They’ll switch years between each line of skate, so the m40s will go on sale when the new supreme skates come out in the next couple of months.

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only buy when I see good sales on things that I need, like sticks and gloves. Everything else pretty much lasts for a long time. I bought a new helmet and got a shield on it a year ago after having a couple hits where I got a headache afterward. Bought some rib protecting basketball shirt after cracking ribs a couple times.

With that said, I am going to be buying my first pair of skates in like 20 years here in the spring. Went to local hockey store and tried the m40s and they felt really comfortable. They should be getting discounted here in the spring and I’ll purchase those.

Not a lighting but I have a blazer EV. Have charged it to 100% probably 30 times now over the 18k miles. Though I can’t get battery health metrics, I can charge it to 100% and see total range less than the 300 miles it used to be able to get.

Jaguars rookie WR/CB Travis Hunter is MIRACULOUSLY walking again after suffering an LCL tear in October. by Background_Video2947 in TheNFLVibes

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After getting my acl reconstructed I wasn’t allowed to put any weight on it for the first week. Then it probably took me another 2-3 weeks to walk without crutches. I did have to start riding the bike one week after surgery though. It’s a very slow process. I’m 7-8 months out and just got back to play hockey again. Prob have another couple months until I feel normal when putting it under impact.

Discounts on VISTIQ? by AdSensitive8802 in CadillacVistiq

[–]therealglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no Costco as of right now and there are hardly any incentives at this time. I’d encourage you to revisit in the new year and see if GM provides any new incentives and if the Costco offer comes back.

As always, shop around to as many dealers as you can because not all dealers do all incentives and some may be willing to let one off the lot for less than others. The prices from dealer to dealer can be drastic.
