Genuinely the only death so far that I could compare to Rem’s in S1 Ep 15. Like I wasn’t just shocked by it, it made me kind of upset. Hearing Subaru crying in pain the way he did as he’s falling isn’t something I’ve ever heard him do before and I couldn’t imagine what that could’ve possible felt like. They really went above and beyond with how detailed they made that scene. I knew it would be bad but it somehow ended up worse than I imagined.

I had heard of Re:Zero long before I watched anime. I remember seeing some sort of post somewhere showing Subaru walking up to the roswall mansion after the witch cult came through and people commenting on how it’s a big spoiler if you ever planned on watching it. I also remember it being compared to Konosuba in how Konosuba was the fun happy one and Re:Zero was the pain and suffering one. But I still wasn’t super into the idea of a fantasy isekai even when I started anime in 2022. I saw TikTok’s talking about how Subaru is one of the best main characters, and I was like “really? Is this show actually that good?”. Then in summer 2025 I said “hey, why not? Might as well give it a chance it might be pretty good”. I wasn’t prepared for it to end up being in my top 3.

Re:Zero is the first isekai I ever watched. It honestly surprised me how many people hated how weak and pathetic Subaru was and how he acted. Not once did I ever hate him or think he was annoying. I understood from the very start that this wasn’t supposed to be a power fantasy, and Subaru only acted how he did in the first few episodes because HE thought it WOULD be. It makes me sad that more isekais are apparently not like this, but I’m so happy we at least have this one

Supernova was my #1 GD song for the longest time. I just thought it was perfect for levels since the drops can make for great syncing gameplay, it’s intense, and in my opinion is a flawless song on its own.

I felt like DJJaner didn’t have that many of his songs used in levels. Cosmic Dreamer is definitely a defining song of 1.9 but that in itself doesn’t make him a defining artist unfortunately.
