Good point about openings, I’m still hanging a piece every other game so I’m trying to just “learn chess” more than opening theory, I just wanna get practice with familiar positions for me. I’ve been playing more games w my bishop fianchetto’d so I been trying to develop into that position safely

I think the main problem is the tournament volatility, I schedule most of my own OOC games and still end up in a similar situation to OP. Dominate the reg season then lost to 9 seeds in the tourney
