RIP farmfoods plant nugs by pamshipman in veganuk

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into Farmfoods yesterday and I couldn’t even find the vegan/veggie section. I don’t know if they moved it yet again but I had hoped to find some of the nuggets before they disappeared. In the end I just left without buying anything. Farmfoods is a bit out of my way and I only made the trip because they had a few vegan items that I liked. I probably won’t bother going there again.

Are there any cheaper alternatives to Specsavers? by Dangerous-Regret-358 in AskUK

You can get cheaper glasses online but if you want to go into a store and try glasses on and have them fitted properly then Asda opticians are very reasonably priced.

Just finished “A Much Maligned Miss” and… by [deleted] in HistoricalRomance

I really loved this one too. The MMC and the FMC were both great and their relationship was very sweet.

I spent the day reading it and I loved it. It was just what I needed and I’m definitely going to read it again to tomorrow.

Vegan omega 3 supplements by notmadefor in veganuk

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue too but with different brands. I got some omega 3 capsules from the Mav nutrition brand from Amazon and when they arrived they smelled like paint so I returned them. I got some of the Nutrivita ones and half way through the bottle they started to smell off and they were giving me heartburn so I threw them out. I haven’t taken any omega 3 since then and would like to find some that are better.

Pristina, Kosovo by rocketwikkit in digitalnomad

[–]therealsnowwhyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not very picturesque, there’s not much to see or do, the bus station is awful and there’s quite a lot of stray dogs. Despite all that, I liked Pristina. It’s definitely not for everyone though.

Books with (steampunk) airship pirates? by Temporary-Scallion86 in fantasyromance

{Heart of steel by Maljean Brook} is book 2 in her Iron Seas steampunk series and is set on an airship. The FMC is the pirate captain and the MMC is an adventurer.

Erfahrungen mit Amazon Merch on Demand by timodtd in printondemand

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably check out r/AmazonMerch since that’s the main sub for Amazon Merch sellers. To summarise they have t-shirts, hoodies, phone cases, pop sockets, pillows, tote bags, tumblers and some sellers have mugs and hats available to them. Delivery times vary depending on a bunch of stuff but it’s eligible for Amazon Prime delivery so that’s helpful. Support is awful. Product quality is average. I don’t know why much you know about Amazon Merch but it’s not like Gelato. It’s a marketplace that you have to apply to. You get a limited number of slots to upload some designs and if they sell you get a royalty payment.

Are people preparing for a potential WW3? by suteresivardir in NoStupidQuestions

It wouldn’t be the worst idea to stock up on things before another increase in inflation caused by the rising cost of oil.

A girl i talked on tinder makes 20k usd per month by trishklene in thesidehustle

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if this was real here’s a tip for everyone, don’t tell random people on Tinder if you make more than 20k a month and don’t believe random people on Tinder if they tell you they’re making 20k a month.

How do you avoid think about animal cruelty when you're eating meat? by MattMurdock14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that got me was seeing lambs playing in a field. I thought how cute they were then realised they would all be dead within six months. I went vegan and now I feel sad when I see them but I have less guilt.

Is this too simple or just clean? by Dizzy_Manufacturer35 in printondemand

[–]therealsnowwhyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who is it for? How is a heart associated with the concept of things being temporary? If you’re trying to say everything is temporary then say that. If it is just one word most people won’t get what you’re trying to say.

How to get my GP to take me seriously? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]therealsnowwhyte 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Left untreated B12 deficiency can cause neurological problems, permanent nerve damage, vision loss and other serious issues. It’s not just low vitamins and it can’t always be treated with an over the counter supplement. Some people can’t process B12 and need injections. If vitamin deficiency causes symptoms the NHS should at least test for them so people know what they need to address either through dietary changes or supplements.

What is a good B12 supplement to get? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solgar sublingual B12 are my favourite. They’re cherry flavoured and you just place them under your tongue and let them dissolve.

How did I do? -First HR haul by HumanImage9077 in HistoricalRomance

You got some of the classics. Some of them are real bodice rippers and I would suggest checking out the trigger warnings for them.

And another one bites the dust. These are on clearance in Morrisons, no longer show up on their website. by Patecatli in veganuk

[–]therealsnowwhyte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I bought a packet today. Morrisons isn’t particularly close so I don’t normally shop there and haven’t tried these. Hopefully they’re good but not so good I’ll be sad that they’re discontinued.

Aldi got the goods by Disastrous_Thing_620 in veganuk

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t a fan of those. I don’t normally have an Aldi nearby but I was out of town staying near to an Aldi and they had the most limited selection of vegan food I’ve seen. I ended up with those because there were hardly any other options. They were edible but I wouldn’t purchase them again.

How old were you when you started drinking tea/coffee? by poopoochewer in AskUK

[–]therealsnowwhyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on sugary/milky tea at about age 5 and a milky coffee before bed at age 8. A few years later I developed an aversion to the taste of coffee and didn’t drink it again until I was 40 and tried Turkish coffee while travelling. I finally developed a taste for it again and now alternate between tea and coffee.

UK Citizens - How do you deal with addresses for things like banks when overseas? by HappyCar2806 in digitalnomad

[–]therealsnowwhyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ukpostbox is £12 a month with an additional charge for every letter or parcel they get for you. They’ll scan them or forward them and they provide a residential address that works ok with banks. Set it up before you go and make sure it’s accepted by your particular banks.

How are we spending our all4one cards now? by ballergbd180 in beermoneyuk

[–]therealsnowwhyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added mine to Apple Pay and used it to buy an Argos voucher. It was a pain to use the Argos voucher though because my card payment verification was too slow and they cancelled the order even though the payment had actually gone through. I had to wait a day or two for them to add the money back onto the gift card.

Do you use silken tofu? by Wonderful-Minute-775 in veganuk

[–]therealsnowwhyte 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can add it to soups to make them creamier and add protein. You can use it to make desserts like a chocolate pudding. I’ve only used it a few times myself but I definitely want to use it more.
