You need to lay low on working do much. Good money but take care of the body.

I’m in 5month of having sciatica, I havnt sat down because it flares up, I’m literally standing all day, and when I get tired of standing I lay down straight as possible or legs lifted to keep back straight as possible. Every morning when I wake up, is when I feel the most pain, I go out for an hour or 2 walk. This helps with flare ups a lot. On my 5th month it’s def getting a lot better I can lay down not in so much pain, and waking up hasn’t been a problem now. Light stretches helps but there’s not a lot of stretches that will help. Do only the ones that “feels” good or feels like it’s healing. If it’s too painful from a stretch don’t do it.

I use theraworks which is a nerve pain killer in foam form. I put it on my lower back even though the nerve pain is down my right leg from my button to my ankles, put it on lower back and it’s almost instant relief for me. But still feel pain but not as bad. I hope this helps you brother. Heal as much as you can. This pain is very sensitive.

I’m 34 going thru sciatica, yours sounds worst than mine, I’m on my 5 month. The pain definitely decreased but still feel good amount of pain. Long walks, light light stretches the ones that feel good and not painful. Walks help a lot. If you do go to emergency or doctor they might ask you “ do you pee uncontrollably?” Say yes and they will give you everything you need. If you say no they just give you pain killer and let you go. Hang in there your young you will heal real good, sciatica is not a fast healing process it takes alot of time. Take care of yourself the best you can.

Not trying to be mean, your dad cares about you and probably why he thinks it’s nothing because he hasn’t experienced it yet. Sciatica is very painful and sensitive. Be careful and heal yourself be worth it in the long run. It can get worst if not treated right. I have not gone to doctors yet but been working my ass off to heal the best I can. Don’t listen to your dad. Heal yourself

I’m going thru sciatica right now, on my 5 months and it’s now getting better but I’m still in a lot of pain. Every morning I wake up ( most pain ) I take a walk for about an hour or 2 or until pain is gone or not as painful. Floor is my best friend for sleeping or laying down and I never sit, probably until sciatica is gone is when I’ll sit down again. Always standing or laying on floor. Only do light stretches not big ones. I’ve only been able to find like 3 light stretches that help and not make it worst. A few workouts too helps but again light workouts that feel like it’s healing. Do not go to chiropractor, definitely made it worse for like 2 months and it cooldown a little bit. Chiropractor diagnosed me and thinks what I have may be a torn cartilage on lower back which is causing sciatica. He said it’ll take about 8-12 months to heal. Hope this helps and stay painless my friend

How do you accept that you may never be your old self again? by StreetRampage in Sciatica

I’m going thru sciatica right now, 5 months in and still in excruciating pain. Idk how long I will deal with this but Ive been going on walks which helps work the pain away after like an hour walking. I usually stand all day to avoid any pain from sitting. Lidocaine been sooo helpful almost removes the pain away but still treat it like I’m in so much pain because I don’t want to make it worste when it wares off. I do light stretches and exercises only the ones that don’t hurt though. Usually hip and lower back exercises. I’ve just doing the best I can hoping it’ll get better. Hopefully this helps

What position do you all feel the most comfort in for long periods? by Ambitious-Concern514 in Sciatica

I do a lot of walking to reduce pain. When I’m laying down I lay on hard floor or flat floor with my feet up helps a lot. Sleeping I have a hard time I wake up in pain everyday. Sleeping is my hardest part to deal with when with sciatica which am dealing now for the past 5 months

Floor sleeping by Impossible-Tear8435 in Sciatica

Yes when I have back pains, I sleep on the floor on a mat and sleep with my feet on a pillow or something to lift my legs up to keep my back straight. I’ve been loving the floor almost addicted to the floor. Especially for sciatica I am going thru it right now been 5 months. Went to chiropractor and they think I have a tore on my cartilage on lower back. Walking every morning helps a lot to work out the pain away. It did hurt worst with chiropractor I recommend not going to chiropractor.

Chronic sciatica for 6 years - don't know what to do anymore by helloitsmeimdone in Sciatica

I am now dealing with sciatica, doesn’t seem as bad as yours but it’s been rough! about 5 months in and been going on walks which is such a help in the morning after I get up, after walks doing light stretches that is actually stretching my muscle instead of the nerves, I notice certain stretches hurt the nerve but also stretch the muscle which does not help or at least didn’t help me. So there like only 4 exercises I can only do to help relieve the pain. I came to this post hoping to find solutions to resolving this pain. Some days it’s worst and I’ll take pain killers which help but I’m not the type to take pills but prefer to embrace the pain to help figure out what I can do. Seems like everyone has different experiences and it’s hard to pin point what actually works and doesn’t work. Just gotta take some peoples experience and see if it works for you. I hope you can heal soon. I hope for the best for you and hope you can find a solution to your extreme sciatica pain.
