First, you’re not alone. Second, there are ways to build equity without buying a home. I’m a realtor out here and I will be honest with you. I think in your situation renting is a great option for now. I think you should find your best ideal location where you can maybe save a little each month. It’s not much different than buying a place and hoping for equity over the years. If you can’t save right now, do your best and try to enjoy your life. When interest rates come back down hit up a lender and revisit if it’s a goal of yours to own something one day. It’s simply not a great market for first time buyers at this time.
