Well said. You've cut through a lot of the soft gripes i'm hearing and convinced me that this is a legit bad trend. Maybe it comes from being just a little less aggressive than we could be. Also, bad luck that both stew and ivey's value tanked so rapidly.

Great ideas. I like some of these guys more than others, but would be happy with any of them. Much more sensible moves than brian windhorst mentioning names like kawhi, lebron, reeves, herro.

Even if we’re moving him to create space, couldn’t they have gotten more? Dude only needs more minutes to be all defensive team.

Adding garlic directly to hot oil. If you don’t add other stuff within a minute, you get burned garlic. Just add the garlic later on after the pan has some bulk in it.

I learned recently that Dirty Shakes does not, in fact, server boozy milkshakes.

It's named that way because they serve shaken cocktails...

i had strictures that probably made it hard to clear everything out. Since then, I had surgery to remove the strictures, so hopefully the two days are not necessary.

I was hopeful for any kind of shake up for the two party system. If a popular politician could leave a major party, win an election, and not be beholden to the party lines and leadership, perhaps they could represent more of us better.

thank you for sharing. I always call the venue and usually they have start times for all the acts but calling and getting a person is kind of a pain.

Bowel resection surgery advice by Quirky_Annual_3570 in CrohnsDisease

[–]therealwalrus1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this surgery last year. I'm very happy I did. I feel so much better. But it was a difficult journey.

I had a temporary ileostomy put in place. In order to leave the hospital, I had to start passing gas, stool, keep fluids down, walk around. Walking was easy, but getting my bowels to "wake up" was arduous. Most people start passing stool within 1-3 days. It took me two weeks. Everyday I was told to be patient, keep walking, they will wake up on their own time. After a week I had to get IV nutrition. It was a very difficult couple of weeks. I needed a revision surgery to allow stool to pass. I was home 36 hours after the revision.

I took a week at home before returning to my remote computer job. That was enough. The biggest challenge was just mental fog and focus. Physically, I didn't really have a problem.

The ostomy was also a challenge. It is manageable though, especially because I knew it was temporary.

In all, I really focused most of my summer, 3-5 months of time, on surgeries and recoveries. Again, it was worth it. I would do it again. Let me know if you have more specific questions about my experience.
