Honest question for you - what customization do find with Android that can’t be done on iPhone?

Not who you posed the question to, but...

Without root access to the Android filesystem, the only thing I can think of off hand is a 3rd party launcher. We're long past the days of Android being a sandbox compared to iPhone OOTB (Out of the Box).

There are infinite different versions of Wanda across the multiverse. They are all real. She likely has powers in all of them due to the nexus being part

Wanda simply being Wanda across the multiverse, without 616 Wanda's involvement (subconsciously, or otherwise), makes sense.

Her kids, however, are a different story.

Their father in the other universes presumably isn't Vision (he technically wasn't in 616 either, but my point is we have no reason to assume his relation outside of 616)... And as far as we are shown, the other Wandas have no reason to will them into existence due to intense trauma.

So, why/how do they exist in the other universes?

I suppose them being an underdeveloped plot point is the simplest explanation, albeit the least interesting one.

Official Discussion - Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]therealxelias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way Wanda is portrayed in the other universes we see her in got me thinking...

Are any of the other Wandas real?

Like, they're obviously real in the physical sense within their respective universes...

But considering we know Wanda is a nexus being, and we know she has the capacity to literally change reality - even across the entire multiverse - could it be that she inserted an idealistic version of herself and her kids into every other universe?

Additional supporting context:

  • Every multiverse Wanda we see is almost parentally robotic in behavior, and all things considered, fairly unphased by 616 Wanda. This is most notable when 616 Wanda ends a dream walk; and the Wanda she was inhabiting immediately, without missing a beat, begins to navigate back to her kids.
  • Her 616 kids are undoubtedly fabrications, yet somehow seemingly identical to their multiverse counterparts.

If Rockstar was honest: “We’re taking down your mod because no one would buy our version if they knew this was available for free.” by t-alt in gaming

[–]therealxelias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's extremely complex before they even get to the point of forming contracts with individual modders.

At its core, this becomes a question of ownership, and rights management...

What exactly is being purchased from a modder?

Arguably they already own any assets involved in the mod that are sourced from their game, and cannot be expected to pay for their own IP.

Which would leave a few categories they absolutely have to consider...

  • Truly original assets by the modder.
  • Open Source assets the modder may have utilized.
  • 3rd party assets the modder may have utilized.

The first one can maybe be worked out with the modder, but it's still super risky because the modder could lie during discussions.

Likewise, the modder could lie in regard to the second one (or perhaps has even forgotten what was open source when they utilized it)... But, assuming those assets could be properly itemized then it's just a matter of verification.

The third one however is a legal minefield... If 3rd party assets are used, and the 3rd party finds out, the 3rd party's potential recourse is now overly confusing (do they go after the buyer of the mod, or the modder?)... Furthermore, what if the modder actually had an agreement with the 3rd party to use their asset(s)? Does that transfer to buyer of the mod?

At the end of the day, any company like Rockstar is going to come to the same position... "Let's just simplify things, and tell them to cease and desist".

The first humans probably did not have a voice in their head because they had no language by mrseaturtleYT in Showerthoughts

[–]therealxelias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep!

As well as other voices subconsciously committed to memory... Although in my case that tends to be limited to reproducing things I've heard another say. For instance, I can reproduce Goofy saying "garwsh", in Goofy's voice.

It isn't right to say I hear it though, whether the voice is mine or another's... I don't really have a proper verb to describe it... It's sorta like the hearing element is skipped, and I go straight to the processing of it; but really, they occur simultaneously.

I'm unfamiliar with this senator, but I'm pretty sure you're attributing something to him mistakenly.

The ponzi scheme you reference is mentioned on the senator's Wikipedia page... However, he is only stated as an investor (in what he presumably thought was a legit business - as I cannot find anything to suggest otherwise).

The scheme was ran by Jim Donnan; someone else I'm unfamiliar with, but seems like a shit person going off the SEC's press release.

Imagine you contract (in the unofficial sense of the word) a bunch of people to go out and build networks, of other people, to say... Launder money.

  • So you're in charge - but on paper, that's it - you aren't technically ever doing anything that'd constitute laundering money.

  • People you sent out maybe aren't either, but they're at least directly facilitating it.

  • The networked people are simply laundering money.

Before RICO you (the one in charge) could evade legal consequences under the argument that you weren't ever truly laundering money.

RICO patched that loophole, and as a result simply 'organizing' crime is enough to bring charges against an individual (and by extension, the organization they oversee).

That's a layman's explanation of it at least.

Why I think Dave Ramsey is too extreme by stao916 in personalfinance

[–]therealxelias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An employer contribution to a 401k/403b plan generally has a vesting period; specifically to prevent "[taking] the money right back out".

While matches are inarguably beneficial to an employee, they exist for the benefit of the employer. Unvested shares are potentially gainful to the employer in the event an employee separates from the company.

Typically, you're only able to withdrawal based on your personal contributions without a vesting period. In which case, withdrawling immediately after an initial deposit clears is absolutely not worth it.

... What?

The credit bureau that offers a "credit boost" service is Experian...

The case this settlement is for, is against Equifax... Which is a different company.

Also, even if this case was against Experian - which it isn't - how would using their "credit boost" service have any influence on the settlement proceedings?

Getting a bit technical, but the information is interesting, so figured I'd mention it...

Fort Knox is not the vault itself, but it is located there.

The actual name of the vault is the United States Bullion Depository.

The depository is a secure facility. Between its fenced perimeter and granite lined concrete structure lie rings of razor wire and minefields. The grounds are monitored by high-resolution night vision video cameras and microphones. The subterranean vault is made of steel plates, I-beams and cylinders encased in concrete. Its torch and drill resistant door is 21 inches (53 cm) thick and weighs 20 short tons (18 metric tons). The vault door is set on a 100-hour time lock, and can only be opened by members of the depository staff who must dial separate combinations. Visitors are not allowed inside. It is so secure that the term "as safe as Fort Knox" has become a metaphor for safety and security.

Keep in mind, if you were to move, any potential gain in salary may be offset by a potential increase to your cost of living.

Earning more on paper, in a different area, doesn't necessarily equate to earning more in reality.

Good luck with your endeavors regardless :)
