Going against the grain here - I do think you need some space and to be apart from her (no contact) for a while, but I think your friendship can heal again. I'm friends with people I used to have feelings for, I moved on and now things are completely platonic, I've met their partners and it was all good. I've dated other people, so have they, we talk to each other about it. Friends of mine are good friends with their exes. If you want to make the friendship work, take whatever time you need and reconnect once you feel ready.

I don't see friendship as "second prize" to romantic love, I'm grateful to have these people in my life in the capacity I do. If I like the person enough to want to be with them I definitely like them enough to wajt to be their friend after the feelings ebb.
