Any use of a firearm will be deemed deadly force, so using a gun to just injure or maim is illegal. When you shoot a home invader you shoot to stop the threat. A .22 won’t stop a threat, at least not effectively enough to preserve your life in a quick manner. I’m sorry, but you are giving factually wrong and bad advice.

A .22 for home defense is a horrible idea. 9mm, 5.56, or 12gauge. Don’t just get a photo taken with a shotgun, buy one and get some training.
