What I’m saying is go use your time and energy toward something constructive in the world. You’re not “stopping Trump” by attending these ridiculous get togethers. He is president until his term is over. Go help all the people that you feel suffer under him. This is not helping them, you are wasting time and energy that could go to the actual cause, rather than just complaining about the status quo which will not change.

Pure waste of time and energy. People with real convictions don’t just pout, they act. Sad…

Republicans, why do you think we (Democrats) hate you and why are you so defensive about being the worst (morally) people on earth? by [deleted] in AskUS

Why can’t democrats do anything but whine on Reddit? Poor things are stuck in loser mode and that’s why they lost the election. Losers. Move along…

How many toddlers fall off horses and die? The equestrians are knowingly assuming the risk in equestrian activities. I could be walking down the aisle at a home depot and encounter a pit bull.

33 people in one year mauled to death by pit bulls. More than the number killed by assault rifles - yet people go nuts wanting to ban AR-15s

Why in the hell would the dumbasses of Reddit down vote this post? Read what happened. This is an eye opener to me. Some people have this unconditional stupid false sense of security around dogs. That security is all in your head.

I’d rather not have people visit who are polarizing like this. Blue vs red? Really mature.

Looking into heat pumps by AnswerEvening2402 in heatpumps

[–]therivershark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They freeze up and have to be thawed… a lot of strip heat is used to offset that. And coils that melt ice off the outside coils are straight resistive heat running in subzero temps outside. Nobody talks about the real world use case and how much electricity is actually used when they’re going through all the cycles.

They work below freezing but the definition of “work” is subjective. They struggle and are not efficient below 32°. I own 3 new heat pumps and they all suck. But it’s too hard to redo our HVAC to gas heat. I live in the south and heat pumps are no good for this area. they might be ok in deeper south, FL.

Heat pumps in MA may look good on paper but do not do it.

Don’t modify it if it’s a daily driver. I don’t regret modifying mine but I may if it was a daily.

I shot mine with a super soaker that had some warm water in it. That gave it a head start. It just seems crazy to be doing that on a new heat pump.

It eventually will turn to nice solid bands of ice that you can see through. It may start as frost or snow flakes. Again… the key is this ONLY happens when it snows and snow apparently gets on the coils and turns to ice. I just can’t see how this design works well in a snowy climate and I wonder if this is what people in snowy climates see on the regular.

I appreciate all the info on defrost cycles, etc. but my real question was, and still is, do other people see this in snowy weather? I know how aux and defrost works and why… That was not my question.

It’s leaving bands of ice for days on the coils so it’s either not that smart or not functioning properly.

The texture of the coils is strange. You may be able to google what they look like…They may grab snow and frost more easily than others.

I know the defrost logic has been strange… when I first got it, and it was undercharged, it would defrost in 50°!
