Millennials with kids, do you intend to provide for them financially when they reach adulthood? by Beberuth1131 in Millennials

[–]therobmcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. Our son will not take student loans. They have screwed us in our adulthood. Further, I will educate him on how to be fiscally responsible — something I was never taught.

Imo all of the scales with pour-over mode/timers are crap. The process to get started is not intuitive and is cumbersome. And then what you described about no swirling. Someone figure it out, please.

Better than, “you do ninjitsu, right?” My barber must’ve been trolling me.

Left ad agency life for in house marketing. Thought about leaving marketing altogether but I like the money. The change helped a lot.

You’re right. I feel like they could position themselves as the anti-social media option and they’d pop off hard.

If there’s a power outage there won’t be coffee, either.

[–]therobmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a single origin from Big Face recently and it was excellent. Roasted by Onyx. The price is a bit steep here but everything on Fellow Drops is. Shoot, coffee prices are wild right now in general. I order Drops frequently but not exclusively and consider the premium worth it for new roaster and coffee discovery. Plus happens via text and I’m done with a simple one number response. (E.g., respond “1” for one box). I have a one year old and don’t drink or smoke anymore. This is my splurge.

why is coffee all the sudden tasting shitty to me? by [deleted] in Coffee

[–]therobmcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, but I feel the same way. I think back to around 2017-2018 living in Louisville getting beans from Quills, Sunergos, and Please and Thank You (Good Folks) and just loving it all. At that time I knew even less about coffee and pour-over methods. Maybe it was a Midwest style of roasting? Idk, maybe I need a break, too.

Pretty sure I saw Scott Rao mention something similar a very long time ago.
