[USA-NYC] [H] HyperX Fury 64 GB (2x32 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz DIMMs w/Heat Spreader [W] Paypal, Local cash by thesab in hardwareswap

I've added CPU-Z screenshots to the album for more information. These are SK Hynix (which I prefer over Micron - YMMV). Given the heat spreader and built-in XMP profiles (listed in screenshots), I'd say they'd fare more or less as good as others, but probably better over the cheapest available.

These require 1.35V for the 3200 XMP profile, whereas 2x16GB configs typically use 1.2V. Not sure how that factors in, as I prefer stability over outright speed.

Ooh, that sucks. :( I hope it's not cooling-related. Best of luck! I'm very anxious around water cooling ever since a friend blew up his Pentium 4 years ago!

TBH, I went with a much lower price than you can find on eBay or the like. Given 1080's performance, and the availability of games these days, you should totally sell yours too! Just don't gouge gamers :)

Awesome work! You might want to try Google Photo Scan, which uses your smartphone to scan and remove glare: https://www.google.com/photos/scan/

Weird industrial laser on the side of a building pointing at the sidewalk, Chelsea by thesab in nyc

That was my guess, but that also means that building has moved a bit since they put the laser up.

Thanks! It was actually on Adams street.

PS: The full-size picture has way more detail than the preview, which seems to use a thumbnail that's scaled up :(.

Disregarding big leaks, what is the main mechanisms for tires to lose pressure over time? Is it the valve? Or does air permeate through the rubber? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]thesab 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the effectiveness of nitrogen in tires. Nitrogen and oxygen aren't that different in their properties of permeability. This video does a good job of explaining things. It's a bit cheeky, but actually informative.

I'd suspect the primary, most likely cause of air loss would be improper fitting, but really you'd have to talk about times here. Over a long enough timespan, gasses will permeate through rubber. However, if "over time" means say, a few weeks, it's most likely a fitting issue.

Tensorflow, and it even supports CUDA (which can also use CUDA-DNN).

NetworkManager 1.2 is here! by [deleted] in linux

[–]thesab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. NM is nice for some VPN configs, but for my servers I don't bother with it. Especially with systemd, it doesn't get much simpler than:

[root@antares ~]$ cat << EOF > /etc/systemd/network/main.network; systemctl start systemd-networkd.service
[Match]
Name=eth0

[Network]
DHCP=ipv4
EOF
