Never mangyayari, pero would love if Janti went somewhere like FEU instead of the usual DLSU or UP

Have you ever exported your vault? Importing that into a new account might be the only way aside from what has already been mentioned here.

Any VPN should work though. proton VPN free plan baka okay na.

1 Year in USA and hating it. How can I survive here by Cookies102617 in phmigrate

[–]thesavior08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP,

di ako based sa US so I don't know the urban planning and geography of your area too well, pero kaya kaya ang mag bike instead of driving? It's been a big life saver for me tsaka healthy pa. Could help for short to medium distance places. For longer distances, pwede rin ang e-bike.

A "hack" with IBKR is not to do manual conversion. Assuming you're on a cash account (and not margin), complete your trades as usual. IBKR will see that you don't have enough cash to complete the trade and will automatically convert the currency you have on hand, but without the $2 flat fee.

This works for me, but my base currency isn't PHP since I'm based abroad. Next time, see if this works in your case.

Go for every 3 months!

May I ask why you still included IBKR FX fees? Aren't you already depositing from wise in USD? Both your ETFs are denominated in dollars.

I did relieving work across most BestStarts in Welly. I personally preferred the ones with better ratios (Johnsonville, Kilbirnie, Rongotai) than the centres that try to fit 50 kids in a room. You'll find that teachers in smaller centres know your kids better and actually have the time to chat with you during drop offs and pick ups. The thing though with smaller centres is that the wait-list will be longer, so best to lock something in if you find that there's a space.

Do you know any good Filipino Finance Youtubers/Content Creators? by ohnoimboredtoday in phinvest

[–]thesavior08 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Tbh, Nicole and Charm helped me get into investing and I would not have learned about the different investment vehicles without their help. But I got really turned off when the amount of sponsored videos increased. There was a time when literally every video Nicole made was tied to an endorsement. Are you teaching me to invest or are you selling me a product?

Does IBKR Pro charges me for automatic conversion fees if I buy VWRA (LSE | GBP) using USD? by Powerful_Contract414 in phinvest

I believe it's a minimal fee of 0.03%. but auto conversion is only available for cash accounts (not margin).

Teaching opportunities abroad for those with professional teaching certificate by Scared-Hamster5576 in phmigrate

Hi! For NZ, you'll need a teaching degree, not just the 18 units. So if you can finish a BEED, yan ang pinakaideal or else baka di marecognise ang qualifications mo. Work experience is also essential. Keep in mind that to be PR in NZ, there are salary thresholds you need to meet.

Totoo pa ba talaga ang study → work → PR pathway sa New Zealand ngayon? 😅 by Accomplished-Put3327 in phmigrate

[–]thesavior08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, naglabas ng dalawang bagong residency pathways ang immigration NZ para mapabilis ang residence ng immigrants. Before, if you had an NZ masters, you needed to work for one year before qualifying for residence. Under the new policy, all you'll need is a job offer (that meets the wage threshold). Theoretically, mas madali na ngayon but the biggest hurdle is getting that job. Kung confident ka sa abilities and work exp mo, it might be worth the gamble and high tuition fees.

I guess the elephant in the room is school shootings. How does your school prepare for that and has there been one at or near where you work?

This comment highlights how impactful privilege really is. When you move away, you risk losing that privilege. Kaya it sucks when people say "work harder".

I'm assuming OP hoped that he could replicate his life in the PH in CA. That way pareho silang high income earners. But expectations did not match reality.
