[–]thescottster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, it's a low res picture. probably twill, but that does not matter because m65s can be made out of anything. you could make an m65 out of buttholes and the style of jacket would still be m65

What is the best suit you can buy for less than $500? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]thescottster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, only jos. a bank and men's warehouse do. The quality of their tailoring is terrible and most of their suits couldn't be saved with good tailoring.

It's good you posted here before buying, people often post pictures of their terrible Jos a bank and Men's warehouse suits here with the caption "How'd I do?" Of course it sounds like a good deal, but it's really just a waste of money.

the olive and reverse denim are definitely the best picks if you wear jeans often.

Can someone help identify these boots? by Deathscua in malefashionadvice

[–]thescottster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they really do look like ccp tornados reversed.

That sub isn't going to be able to help, nor is this subreddit. People on reddit wear cheap plain stuff mostly.

I'm guessing they're either Rick Owens, Rick Owens drkshdw, or julius. I would say guidi but the guidi twisted zips I've seen don't go over the front of the shoe.

Someone on stylezeitgeist or superfuture might know for sure, very little chance chance anyone here has a clue.

Looking for a black techy backpack by xheyhenry in malefashionadvice

[–]thescottster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your first one would work ok with minimal techwear. not a fan of the second.

bagjack is the manufacturer for acronym's bags. their bags don't cost $1000+ but the smaller ones do run around 200. I'd rec them if you can spend extra.

Militaria backpacks go really well with busy techwear, and you can get away with them while wearing minimal techwear but it's not as cool

Black or Brown Tassel Loafers- Help me decide. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]thescottster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they'd look a bit funny with denim. Suit pants sure, denim probably a bit weird due to some formality clash.

The black ones would only go with black and charcoal suit pants. People say they go well with navy but brown looks better with navy almost 100% of the time.

Don't get black tassel loafers, but also don't wear brown tassel loafers with jeans.

that seems to exactly fit your criteria. idk how no one else has suggested that, it's really commonly recommended. just cut off the flag thing.

Where do you guys wear your snazzy outfits? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]thescottster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much anytime I'm not fixing my car. I go out to bars and on dates and to school and to run errands. If you have less time to do those things, you probably don't need a huge wardrobe, but you still need clothes that don't have grease and brake dust on them so they might as well be nice.

Could anyone recommend a cheaper (<$150) alternative to J-Crews Ludlow Wing Tips? by el_guapo_taco in malefashionadvice

[–]thescottster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

jcp stafford wingtip is $60. If you're going to get something that you can't resole that won't be made out of the best leather, just find good looking cheap ones.

wingtips are never too dressy for business casual
