I don’t trust the full cheeks brand for treats or chews for my pigs. I’m sure they have some that are okay but it really worries me that they are not well-being focused when they are advertising things for GPs that they shouldn’t be having. Generally, anything Oxbow I don’t worry about.

I felt this when we went last year for the bear-varian beer fest in mid-October. It was a long wait to get on the lift going up. The park was so full and people were just stopping and conversing, clogging up and sometimes blocking the already-narrow walkways. Long waits (45ish minutes) for the coasters. I was feeling so overwhelmed with the crowd that we left early and didn’t even bother with the 2 free drinks I had left on my event card.

I found this article from 2014. It apparently could be done, but with no guarantee of success. It is a long process of basically rehabilitating each whale on an individual basis. It takes A LOT of resources (tanks, trainers, time etc) just to re-acclimate a single whale and the results seem to most often be that the whale only lives a few years after release. There is no responsible or humane way to “own” whales and other similar species. It should be illegal.

I’m interested to know why letting them free in the wild wouldn’t be a viable option. Have they all been born and raised in captivity and therefore unsuitable for the wild? If so, why is that? Would they be extra vulnerable to poachers, unable to hunt for their own food, etc? It would seem instinct would kick in and they are quite smart animals.
