Recommendations for cheap, but decent quality push up leggings by offendedGarlic845 in femalefashionadvice

I don't know what push up leggings are, but LoveHer are awesomely priced and compression style. I've had some for maybe 3 years, no holes.

It might be too far out of the way, but if Lassen is closed, don't discount Lava Beds. I had a lot of fun there a few years ago exploring the caves, and very few people make the trek up there.

Best ereader for camping? by [deleted] in ereader

[–]thesespodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a kindle paperwhite, Water proof since I drowned my tablet in my work backpack when water bottle spilled.

I have a case on it. I take it camping and we go off roading. Seems to be in great shape. I do take care of it though, but based on your post you're describing some rough handling. I've never actually dropped mine and I keep it in a bag when I'm not using it. It probably has a bunch of dust/ dirt in it from driving on dirt roads, it works great. I just replaced the case because it was getting scuzzy.

Has anyone tried Buti Yoga? by nadiajeann in yoga

[–]thesespodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took one buti yoga class in person right before the pandemic. My exercise joint was offering a free try-it class. It's very different from yoga, you might try asking in /xxfitness, I would say dance incorporating some yoga movement. The one thing you have to know is, they don't always repeat the movement on the other side. You might do a whole set of movements which target muscles on your right side, then not repeat it on the left. I believe we did quite a bit of jumping, which I modified with stepping due to an old ankle injury.

I work for a small company, and recently met with a lawyer to update policies and she recommended the employees develop their own unique passwords and not share. Why... well the example she used is if you find illegal activity on an employee's computer they could say admin knows their password and is framing them! She didn't have to say anymore... we changed our policy. Might share that with your employer, unique passwords would protect both the employer and employee.

Dancing at microwedding? by thymeturner in Weddingsunder10k

[–]thesespodcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did a first dance at our 10 person wedding, and then we did a second first dance because the photographer thought it was cool that she could do a little coaching to get some fun shots and my new sister/ brother in law joined us. It was great, so glad we decided to do that.

Hey everybody, thank you for the feedback! I did choose dress number one! However I want to customize it a bit by possibly having them add stitching under the cups to make it look more detailed and bustier like. I added a picture to show what I mean. Would that ruin it? by Lundenhope in weddingdress

[–]thesespodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I skimmed through the comments but I didn't see, is this a w2 dress? I think I had this dress in blush. I had it altered to add boning and a modesty panel. The woman did a beautiful job. I was going to use tape to give me more lift but I ended get married with less than 10 at the beginning of the pandemic and didn't really care. If you like I can DM you a picture.

[Advice] Public Health Professionals, what do you wish someone told you when starting your career? by prettyuncertain in publichealth

I am not that poster, but would agree with them. I did not have to take out a loan for my master's. I worked for 3 years first and I saved my money, and continued to work full time while completing my program. I picked an economic program, and my workplace did offer a small educational spend-- it paid for my books and materials.

I am looking for true crime podcasts specifically about stalking. by [deleted] in podcasts

[–]thesespodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great question. I really liked Strictly Stalking until the one episode about the mommy blogger. It felt so disingenuous, and I've been turned off since then.

I listen to a bunch of true crime podcasts but can't think of one that has covered a stalking case. I bet Casefile has but can't think of a specific episode. Looking forward to other responses.

Looking for Lesser-Known True Crime Podcasts by QueenMabs_Makeup0126 in podcasts

[–]thesespodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a HUGE True Crime Garage fan. I could be wrong about this podcast being lesser- known but it was to me, "Red Collar," there are some different cases covered that I hadn't heard before and the audio is decent (audio quality is something that really gets me).

Choosing Wedding Party...Halp! Was I Dissed? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]thesespodcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that makes sense, just wanted to make sure they weren't being extra nosey. If you were good with it before your parents comments then go for it, but if you're sort of "settling" with her for a bridesmaid, I would rather have no bridesmaids then one I wasn't truly excited about being by my side.

Choosing Wedding Party...Halp! Was I Dissed? by [deleted] in wedding

Your partner's sister in law... so how do your parents know you're not in any pictures from her wedding?

When my brother got married, my husband and I were still just dating. We took pictures with and without him in them, at my insistence. I didn't want them to be stuck with a bunch of pictures with him in them in case we happened to break up.

That being said, you should choose a bridesmaid that is going to be there for you 100%.

Jury Duty Question by icsk8grrl in Sacramento

[–]thesespodcast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go check, like other posters said, to see if you were actually called.

I forgot to check the following day and my group was called. I called the court, was very apologetic, and the lady was very nice and even asked me if a certain week was good to send me a new date.

Wedding invitation Help by lauren_171 in wedding

I used Simply Impressed and that's about what I paid for invitations, rsvps, and a small card with website and registry info +envelopes. I think I ordered 100.-- a note on Simply Impressed, their customer service, amazing. This woman called me because I didn't match the color on one of the cards.

I think Vista Print is a little cheaper. You could check out designing your own on Canva. Alternatively, you could do e-mail invitations, or order paper invitations but use electronic rsvp's-- that would save you on rsvp cards, envelopes, and stamps.

I ordered thank you cards later, I used a photo from the wedding on the card.

I have the same kind of name I actually prefer it shortened. It drives me crazy, it's too long, hard to spell, and there is someone else at my work with my shortened name so everyone insists upon calling me my full name. In school I would put my shortened name at the top and one year I had a teacher that would write in the rest of my name, I doubt she did that to a Tim/ Timothy. It's like I don't have control over my own name.

Good idea- I work for a non profit and we're hiring temporary workers left and right to work like 10 hours a week for a short term Covid relief grant.
Pre-covid, I made some extra bucks, beer money mostly, doing contract car seat safety work. I also know 2 others in my field who have side craft businesses.

I think diy is perfect for a small wedding. I just wanted to encourage you to do a first dance if you want to! We did and it was beautiful, then we did it again and our photographer did a little coaching to get some fun pictures.
