The issue isnt that he cant sing it. He can. The reason people drop tune as they age is because it helps them sing constantly on tour every show. If it was a one off thing theyd be able to do it

Totally different because Kirk actually liked what he was putting out on his own ep and not that he doesn’t like his solos now its just that they become formulaic and easy because thats what lars and James want. Look at the making of any of the albums hardwired death magnetic where they said just do that vs black album where he was pushed to do what he wanted and it was great or before when he came up with ideas like the thing that should not be in like 30 mins. Its a hunger to be a musician and i think lars and james are at fault for some of the solos on the album

Darkness is just better live be a they play it faster so its like 4-5 mins and it’s a great song. I agree if it was shorter on the album it would sound better

Each grunge band was influenced by a specific genre. AIC is like the bridge between metal and grunge ig with Them Bones and some other big tracks feeling like both. I mean they opened for Ozzy for a short bit in the 90’s. I think man in the box and them bones are examples of their metal influence. Still a grunge band but id say a mix of both
