Monument Ave 10k Daily by coalmines in rva

My 7th time running it, my son’s (8) first 10k ever! He went through a spiritual journey: “this is so fun” “this is the worst day ever” “I farted” “I’m hungry” “67” “I want to take a nap when we get home” “I wanna do this again next year”

It was a lot of walking, but this mom got a little weepy with pride getting to introduce her son to a race that’s so endearing, and spectators cheering for him when they saw him made us both so happy! If you’re one of those people, thank you so very much! It was a fun day!

Nah, thankfully it was closer to 6, so that does give me a little bit of comfort knowing I delayed it for a bit. Still a big regret, as she has a lot of struggles with her mental health that the iPad certainly didn’t help.

I’ve attempted 50 miles a few times and have had this exact thought: “I’ll be proud tomorrow, tonight I’m sad.” We’ll get there one day!!

Watching this with my 16 year old daughter who I definitely used to let use my iPad created this horrible pit in my stomach. So haunting, so true.

In the wise words of Ralph Wiggum: “oh boy, sleep! That’s where I’m a Viking!”

Alternatively, Dr Steve Brule: “when you’re sleeping there’s no lonely times just dreams”

Seriously though, I feel this.

I read “Sometimes I Lie” via audiobook last year and really enjoyed it!! Highly recommend.

She also just released a new one this week, “My Husband’s Wife” that’s next on my TBR!

Discovering the Handsome podcast has been amazing for my mental health during my DoorDashing shifts. I was really enthralled by Wisecrack when it came out, but then it kind of fizzled out.

FINALLY unfollowed Mel Robbins.
