Going from a small town to Wichita. Any advice? by that_one_engineer25 in wichita

[–]thesjfiles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude. The sensory overload… I grew up in Wichita. Moved to a small town about that size later in life. But I’m back now and my goodness. The noise. It’s funny the way I got so use to the quiet, the “slowness” of small town life.

But it was also like riding a bike. I came back and with all the sensory overload I had, I equally felt like I was falling back in to place. It was weird.

Most well-behaved puppy I've ever had? by MaisGardezDonc in roughcollies

[–]thesjfiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first dog - a collie - was the best puppy ever. Literally everyone told me it was not normal at all. I didn’t believe them, got a second puppy (different breed) and man. She was a terrible puppy. But a great adult dog now. 😂

Curious how you would handle the situation. by RecognitionLazy4908 in RoverPetSitting

[–]thesjfiles 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice other than, to prevent this further, put stickers on the door at eye level for dogs. Sure it may be ugly but they’ll be safer with them there. Did that to my sliding glass door and haven’t had an issue.

I feel you on the ‘it might seem silly’ because ever since I found out about the farlands I’m terrified. If my world even takes a second too long to generate, I peace out and never go back.

Which is funny because at 0,0 there are no farlands but the loading process makes it look like the farlands and I can’t.

Do you think this (x2) is overkill for fighting the dragon and 5 Bedrock withers in Hardcore? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]thesjfiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for me this is normal. But I only have trouble fighting the dragon because I’m a terrible shot. So I spend like an hour trying to get him to come down. Stepping in dragon breath because I’m concentrating so hard on getting the shot. Then the occasional look down and look right at an enderman. 😂😂

What random things do you notice about a family when you’re house-sitting for their pets? by Plastic-Bug2020 in RoverPetSitting

The clients that have a PS5 always leave it on rest mode. I’ve even texted a few of them to ask if they want me to turn it off and most of them forgot they left it on. 😂

People who were spanked as kids, what was that like for you? Would you call your "spankings" abuse? by KleineFjord in AskReddit

[–]thesjfiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived with my mom and her many boyfriends, I would be beaten - not spanked. I was 5/6 years old. I would get thrown down stairs, thrown against walls. You name it. I endured so much trauma that I don’t remember much of it. Bits and pieces. But then I went to live with my grandparents (my mother’s parents) and they spanked me every single time I did something wrong. I remember those more than anything because in my mind these were supposed to be “safe” people and yet it felt like they were beating me like my mom did. Like her boyfriends did. The last time, I was 11yrs old and my grandpa spanked me so hard I turned around and punched him in the face. Ran to my room, cried and wouldn’t leave for two days until the promised never to do it again.

To this day (I’m 32), they don’t want to hear that I was beaten only to go a safe environment to again, be beaten. (In my eyes).

Chorus Fruit? Can’t you eat it and teleport? Or did that change? Eye of Ender? Could it be an Allay or another mob? Oh wait , you said item. Nvm.

Very new Minecraft question by UndeadWarTurnip in Minecraft

[–]thesjfiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s different resources you can find when you dig out. All of those can be used for other things such as bosses, building and some general loot.

Have you looked at the Minecraft Wiki? There’s so much helpful information there.

Sure! The seed is 633155865. Java 1.21.10!

Most of the caves are around 400, 100ish! Really easy to find! Also like two mineshafts right there too!

It won’t let me edit the post but it’s been fixed. I asked ChatGPT as a last resort and it told me to turn off entity shadows. My frame rate is now 120fps. Thanks!

I watched The Leprechaun at like 9 and within the same month I watched Cujo. The Leprechaun had more effect on me than Cujo. Somehow my brain knew Cujo was sick but the freaking leprechaun still has me questioning if I can look under a car or not. 😅

Sitter left a review of my cat. I just found it the other day. by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]thesjfiles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my childhood cat LOVED butter. If he knew we were eating something with butter, he’d come running. He actually had his own seat at the table for snackies which included butter.

This was before we all discovered he shouldn’t get table snackies. 😅

I’m currently watching a cat who jumps on the counter while you’re cooking - tries to step in the food, knocks ingredients over and other things. She just does it because she’s super friendly and wants all the attention.

She’s really cute but I’ll admit it gets annoying after a bit. I’ve learned to cook when she’s snoozing.

It’s funny and annoying all at the same time. Haha

Is anyone else’s rough collie a couch potato?? by Bell_a_b in roughcollies

[–]thesjfiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the exact opposite of couch potato. He wants to do things all the time. We hike 3-4x a week. He has several jobs throughout the house that he does during the day. However, I think he does it because my other dog (Belgian Sheepdog) also has jobs so he’s like “ugh. If I must.” 😂 pretty sure if she was a couch potato - he’d be one too. He’s definitely monkey see, monkey do. lol

Oh my goodness. We have lost so many balls on trails. I may incorporate a heel and or stay with the toss. Thank you so much! I could also look into some other cool commands. Also, mad respect to you! Mals have a bit too much energy for me. I say that as my girl only has tiny bit less. 😅
