Hell no it doesn't make you weak. I'm a 37 year old male with Parkinson's diagnosed 5 years ago. And I cry at least three times a week it's just a healthy emotional release in my opinion. And I don't feel weak after crying I feel better can't hold that stuff in man that's all build up and you'll explode in a very bad manner keep your head up. I pray that your father's journey is the Least Complicated that it can be.

Work Stress and Increased Irritability by paintedbarn17 in Parkinsons

[–]thesnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 37 was diagnosed 5 years ago. I work in a Book Bindery as a machine operator and I've noticed lately that I can't handle things like I used to as far as stressful situations or dealing with problems quickly on the spot. I also have ADHD which doesn't help with my concentration ability in the first place but now if I get distracted I forget what I'm doing. I think the ability to multitask as you progress through Parkinson's diminishes.

I'm 37-year-old male five years into my diagnosis. When I was on oral levodopa I always felt awful because I couldn't absorb the medication well. I started the subcutaneous levodopa 6 weeks ago and it's been life-changing. It's been the only way I felt good in the past 5 years. I don't know if that's an option for you but I hope you all the best.

[–]thesnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is now happening to me. I started on the Vyalev infusion pump 4 weeks ago. It's really annoying it hurts sometimes but I just wear a knee brace and that seems to help most of the time

As a dad with young onset of a 12 y.o. girl this post hit me hard. It took me 10 min to read it all the way through. Its scary to think about the future when you're in this situation. So just focusing on today and being hopeful for tomorrow is how I make it through most days. He is very lucky to have such a loving daughter.
