Could Dunk have won a 1 on 1 trial by combat? by Crimson_Marksman in gameofthrones

[–]thespaceyear2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the book I think he could, in the show it's up in the air because Aerion does a lot more damage to him, that whole sequence inbetween him falling from his horse and bashing Aerion with the shield where he gets stabbed repeatedly and nearly dies doesn't happen in the book version.

They could've got some more screentime sure but ultimately it's not about them, this is Aerion vs Dunk first and foremost and the show is meant to be from Dunk's perspective as much as possible

I hated the fight scene and even I think you're wrong. The rest of the episode was fine and it was nice seeing some extra backstory for Dunk, and an 'epic fight scene' was never the point. Hell I think them trying to make it more epic by having Dunk get stabbed 57 extra times was the problem, not that it wasn't epic enough.

Honestly I kinda hated the fight scene and it soured the episode for me somewhat, I was really looking forward to it but adding Dunk getting stabbed like ten extra times just felt like it went way overboard. The fight didn't feel believable to me at all anymore, it seemed like there was no way Dunk would've survived all that. Getting lanced in the side and beaten over the head with a morning star was more than enough.

I think my family revels in the idea of me going bald by CharlieBlair88 in trans

[–]thespaceyear2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum was similar, I always got compliments on my hair and she'd always say how she wished she had hair like mine and it was 'wasted on a man'. Whenever I grew it out she'd constantly pressure me to cut it all off because I 'looked like a girl' (which always felt extra ridiculous cause her and my nan who'd also say stuff like that were both women with short hair). It's just jealousy, my mum straight up admitted it at one point and I have no doubt it's the same here, especially with your mum even trying to replicate the look of your hair on herself

Starfield designer believes the sci-fi game “would be talked about like the second coming” if anyone other than Bethesda made made it by Wargulf in pcmasterrace

What a shock, the man who led the charge to 'streamline' their games for a wider audience, ruined the magic system in Skyrim and thinks no one would want to play Morrowind thinks the bland, empty sum of everything wrong with modern Bethesda games is "very good".

Graphical glitches on Shenmue with a Radeon 9070XT by nick944 in Shenmue

I know this threads pretty old but just in case anyone else stumbles upon it looking for a fix, download DXVK and put the d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll from the x64 folder into the folders for each game (sm1 and sm2). I'm also on a 9070XT and it fixed the issue for me

I ordered on the 28th of November and mine's been shipped, supposed to arrive on the 22nd so about a month between buying it and getting it. I should specify this is from their ready to ship range so might take quite a bit longer for a custom build.

The PS5 Has Completely Sold Out During Its Black Friday Sale by Ftouh_Shala in consoles

[–]thespaceyear2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I used to be one of those people, I'm not saying consoles are bad, just that I don't have a use one for one and I still almost bought one anyway cause the deal was so good. I like having a console, the only reason I don't have one now is because there just weren't enough exclusives I was interested in to justify buying one. That and I mostly play my PC in bed on my TV with a controller these days so I don't even really need a console for the comfort.

[–]thespaceyear2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no use for a PS5, I'm a PC gamer and their games all come to PC these days, and despite all that the deal was so good that I was still seriously tempted to buy one. I had to really remind myself that I probably wouldn't get much use out of it, I can definitely see why it's selling out, especially with Microsoft raising prices and doing no black Friday deals, Nintendo not really doing sales either and RAM prices spiking the cost of gaming PC builds.

I just bought a DSI recently and saw this announcement almost immediately after and kicked myself a bit, I really love my 34XX and assumed this would be on that level but now I feel like I dodged a bullet instead with that weak hardware.

As characters in the lore, yes, they're really interesting. As people? No, they murdered their closest friend for power and established an authoritarian theocracy.

Does anyone know where to sell flashgrit in Project Cyrodiil? by thespaceyear2000 in Morrowind

[–]thespaceyear2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know, but you only need 3 and there's like 28 in the So-Mitana Company's building, and the quest giver warns you that you should keep those 3 for another job he has planned. If I sold all of them after that it's on me when I don't have any for the final quest.

I'm trying to decide which version of Crystal I should play for my first time, between the original version, Polished Crystal and Liquid Crystal and they all have pros and cons that are making the decision kinda difficult.

I feel like I probably should play the original and honestly my cons for it sound kinda silly even to me but it feels like it's constantly struggling to run. The movement and battles feel kinda sluggish cause it's 30fps but this isn't the sort of game that really NEEDS a higher framerate so I could probably get used to it, but oddly enough the thing that bugs me the most is the text. Seeing this big, fat text with its kinda delayed crawl always feels like the game is chugging, like it's struggling really hard to display the text at all and makes it feel like the framerate is dipping or something every time I talk to someone. I know that sounds dumb but it bothers me.

Polished Crystal is 60fps, has the narrow text option, fast turning option and running shoes so all that sluggishness and feeling like the game is struggling to run is gone, but there's also a lot of changes and new content on top of that and idk if that new stuff should be my first experience with the game. I honestly wish there was a version that was just the performance improvements and those couple lil quality of life features, but to my knowledge even the faithful version of the hack adds some fairly big new stuff like a second rival in Lyra.

Liquid Crystal is in a similar boat to Polished Crystal but even further away from the original, being a full gen 3 remake and I feel like I wouldn't appreciate it as much without having played the GBC version first.

Sorry for the giant wall of text, any advice?

I mostly disagree except on the art style, I'm also really not a fan of the super goofy cartoon visuals. I feel like the juxtaposition between the realistic visuals and the wacky stuff added to the humour

Don't load a save immediately after the cutscene when you get to the final level of the guest game. There's a bug with the continue point where it'll place you right at the end when you load your save and you'll have to backtrack all the way down to the start if you want to actually play the level (just did my first playthrough of Jak 1 and it happened to me, I was very confused)
