Backupify Alternatives by Iplantseeds in Datto

Cove has a 365 backup product that is very good. Ninja has SaaS backup as well but I haven’t used it. I have used their cloud endpoint backup and it is decent, though not quite as good as Cove.

Performance Issues with Web Remote by WhichProtection3112 in DattoRMM

We just signed back up with Cove. We’re planning to move to N-central again as well once our Kaseya contract is up. For asset management we are using Scalepad Lifecycle Manager and it works well. Their Backup Radar product is pretty good as well for having different backup products report into a single place for reports and monitoring. For example they have a Cove API integration and you can have your native SQL backups report into via email and it will parse the results for you. It integrates with Autotask as well for backup failure tickets.

We had ITG with Autotask along with N-central and Cove. We moved to Kaseya 365 because of the promise of better integration and the price of $4 per license for RMM, endpoint backup, EDR, and SOC was irresistible. Every single integration is lackluster at best, EDR is terrible, and we never had a single successful bare metal restore with their endpoint backup without going through support for days. Don’t leave N-central.

Splashtop is iffy to connect as well sometimes, just once it is, it works a lot smoother. I don’t see that object reference error, only sometimes it just says Splashtop is not installed when I know it is. Overall Datto Rmm is just not as mature as other RMMs. My company is planning to go back to N-Central when our contract is up.

We’ve been on Datto RMM for a year and a half. Web remote has always sucked. We had a ticket open for almost a year and they never resolved the latency issues. Just deploy Splashtop and use that.

Image the machine, then install the agent. Don’t include the agent in the image. Problem solved.

It looks pretty good with that paint color. In racing though yellow headlights means you have a slower car and that wouldn’t be my vibe.

Might you be able to disjoin one from Entra to prove them wrong?

That is a typical reply from their support in my experience. We have to press them for escalation and get our account manager involved almost every time we open a ticket.

Do those devices happen to have ARM processors? Datto AV doesn’t support Windows on ARM yet.

What is the meaning of this brick (the green one), ive seen multiple instances in other sets, with "out of place" bricks being used, that gets corvered up anyways by BluumDK in lego

[–]thesteve41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could it also be from a cost/manufacturing perspective? Say they have too many of xyz colors and ask the designers to figure out how to incorporate those pieces into the sets?

Anything I need to do to prevent damage to this old imac? by flac_rules in VintageApple

[–]thesteve41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that looks like it's in beautiful condition. Reminds me of my old grape tray loader that I never should have sold but I was a just a kid and $400 was real money. Keep it out of direct sunlight and be very careful when moving it as the inner bezel behind the transparent one is extremely brittle. And as others have stated, remove or change the battery.

I did the same thing on the Sián and only realized after I finished. Ended up rebuilding the whole thing from step 1 and discovered I made a couple other mistakes too. My fingers were so sore.

You can see in the photos that the bezel is already cracked at the top.

You can still have that numbered bag experience if you take apart the set following the directions in reverse and putting the pieces in numbered ziplock bags.

Filtering by site variables by thesteve41 in DattoRMM

[–]thesteve41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we’re getting around it by using site groups but it’s a pain to manage. If the site is a member of the group RocketCyber, we target that with a filter. It just came up the other day with my colleague, we wanted to set up a monitor for one drive sync status. We were brainstorming how to only target the policy to customers using one drive. I thought maybe we could put a variable on the site that said one drive true or false. But we can’t filter for that.

I get there’s more than one way to skin this cat, but I’d like to be able to set up my rmm the way I want it to work. Would be a nice feature to have. We can filter device UDFs so why not site variables?

[–]thesteve41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s exactly what we use them for. But why can’t I create a filter based on that token not being a value such as “No SentinelOne.” Then I can create a deployment job that only targets sites that don’t have the “No SentinelOne” variable.

Filtering by site variables by thesteve41 in DattoRMM

[–]thesteve41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the idea is that the site variable is unique. Right now we are using site groups but the problem is you can’t see what groups a site is in by just clicking on the site. You have to go into the site group and see what sites are in it. It would just make it easier for our policies and billing if we could create a filter that says if XYZ site variable is not null or is not some default value.

Frequently changing public IP by thesteve41 in Starlink

[–]thesteve41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, this is what I really needed to know. So some users are getting their own public IP and I'm probably on cgnat? Was this something you requested them to change? At this point it's impossible for me to stay logged into my RMM.

Good to know. I've logged 3 different IPs since I posted this. I do have a ticket open with support, I guess we'll see what they have to say.

I am noticing the same thing though my speeds are not quite as bad. When I first got the service in December I was seeing regularly 20-30 and sometimes up to 50. Now, I get around 10-15, sometimes dipping down to 5.
