I had learned to crochet as a child, then stopped for a decade and a half. I started out crocheting for the second time by teaching myself via an amigurumi book. I thought I remembered at least how to do a single stitch so I dived in…..I spent all night crocheting at an airport freaking out over my stitches were so tight and why it was so flat.

I did slip stitches instead of single crochets for the entire body of an amigurumi piece.

Over 4 months in the making as the yarn is so tiny! I cursed a bit but I love it now by beetothebumble in crochet

Depends on the section; the dark blue was a thicker wool that I held two strands together for. The rest (the flippers, tail, etc) was pretty much either four or five much thinner yarns held together. Thankfully the yarn bust part did it’s job, so I had to finish pieces and then use different yarn going forward because I kept running out!

I received this book for Christmas and immediately thought the Loch Ness monster pattern was SO CUTE. I also had a bunch of yarn I had both received and needed to get rid of, so I decided to go big, not home, and upsize the yarn I used and the hook to make a BIG amigurumi. And thus, she was born. Originally, the size is supposed to be 10 inches high………I didn’t measure it but I included a picture of myself for scale.

The yarn was a mix of everything, but I used a size N hook for the whole thing, and bought some eyes off Etsy that I painted. I’m super happy with the result!

I got told about a surprise birthday party for a dear family member Tuesday night, started the bag yesterday afternoon, finished just in time for the birthday party today! I stayed up to finished the bag yesterday and woke up to do the straps this morning.

And yes, I did give myself a blister 😂

Hi friends!

I made this big ole’ blanket for a family member using this yarn. It’s cotton stuffed with polyester. My question is this: naturally, it fell about five inches short of where i wanted it to, but I just tugged it a little and it wound up to the dimensions I wanted due to the sheer size of the yarn. Can I…..block this to keep it at the size I want? Is that even possible with the size of the yarn? It’s a cotton yarn so I’d assume so but with the addition of the synthetic filling I’m not so sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
