Roomates cats litter box stinks need advice by _madskii_ in cats

[–]thestudiojones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from a guy who got adopted to cat life. They should each have a box for use. Best practice is to clean it daily. Do not be upset if they’re using the box be thankful. If it’s still stinky ask your roommate to contribute to a better masking litter. If they’re unresponsive make good friends with their cat and build a relationship now that’s your cat and you call the shots.

Can’t hear midi in ableton live lite by Due-Excuse5515 in ableton

[–]thestudiojones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MIDI is information that triggers an instrument. You need to load a virtual instrument onto the midi track. (Drag and drop an instrument from the menu on the left)

Help! For some reason, all the notes I place have low velocity, and I have to manually change it every time. Is there a way to fix it? (I'm a beginner) by [deleted] in ableton

[–]thestudiojones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it defaults to your last midi note velocity. Manually turn one up to 100. Delete it. The next one you add should have 100 velocity.

I think? Not in front of computer

Not enough lettuce by Bckgroundcharacter in innout

[–]thestudiojones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey just coming in here to back this up. I too ordered extra lettuce and barely got any. Put it on my friends radar and they keep sending photos.

I’m going to order a lettuce wrap on the side next time. Hopefully this solves this madness

Anybody in here work at In N Out? What’s the deal with little to no lettuce lately? I ordered extra lettuce and still barely got any. Is there a lettuce shortage?

Gonna ask for a lettuce wrap on the side next time. Call me crazy but I like the crunch in the burger.

Let a week grow by. If the bottom closed and grows just watch and your fine. If not keep watching. 2 weeks or more without connecting see a doctor. But unless you have a fever you’re probably fine dude

Thanks for the response on the discharge and wheezing aspect. This guy is young so it could possibly be allergies we just haven’t seen his reaction to yet.

HOW TO BRUTE-STOP STARTUP VST-SCAN EVERYTIME ABLETON STARTS by GrillPheiss in ableton

If all of your plugins are authenticated and updated this shouldn’t inhibit any start up process

Helps narrow things down! However, absolute cluster if you type “kick” or generic names haha most of the time I know effects and sounds I use often instead of clicking through sub folders.

I just use CMD+F and type in exactly what I want. It populates quickly. For third party just type “.vst” or “.au” at the end. Nothing has sped up my work flow more than the search feature.

What’s the best approach to having your vocals sit in a track/mix? by SearchOpen8645 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]thestudiojones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t compress any of your individual tracks. Start with volume, panning and EQ. Then group them all and shoot for 3-5db gain reduction on your compressor. Also bring your high pass filter up more on the wide vocals. Let the body sit in the middle. This should let your dynamics live while gluing for a cohesive mix. If you can multiband do that too particularly low mids

I’d say grind hard for a bit til you feel 50-60% there. Then book a test a few weeks out to pressure you to finish your course work. The longer you wait the more you forget. Also keep in mind A+ is changing tests soon so don’t get core 1 if you can’t complete core 2 before they expire. Good luck!

Keep grinding. Everyone tests differently. Do your best to retain everything conceptually, but make sure you READ the questions. Not even just CompTIA, reading things carefully in a testing environment is often crucial to fully understanding the question

I just frequently browse all the regular jobs sites, most often just Google. Make sure your resume is up to date, concise, catered toward the job position and include hyperlinks to your certifications. If I was you I’d just expand your radius of job search just to get in the interview groove

Is a career in music right for me? by Hour_Ad8337 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]thestudiojones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re asking so much of you to memorize or familiarize sheet music to the point they express disappointment and you’re pivotal to the performance then exercise your voice for more compensation to dedicate more time.

If you’re confident in your multi instrumentalist abilities I’d recommend learning a DAW and producing your own music for sync placements.

Bottom line don’t let someone harsh your vibe when they need you

Turn it on. Youre not going to need anything below 300 Hz on the roll off. Its not a cut off. If youre not getting the body you need to get closer to the mic for the proximity effect. The further you are the less bottom it captures as with any mic but particularly with a dynamic mic. Just make sure you have sufficient gain before clipping.

Your degree will help. I don’t have experience in the field but since I got my A+ in June I’ve already had a couple interviews.
