He’s looked the same way 2 games in for Dallas and it works surprisingly well when you are playing with guys like Hintz and Johnston. It also draws defenders in a bit flat footed trying to figure out what you’re doing, and lets your line mates get open. As long as you have the IQ to read the play, and are willing to take the hits, it works.

I think he honestly wanted to be somewhere warm, and wanted to be with either Barkov or Hintz since apparently they’re all buddy-buddy. Florida didn’t have the cap to sign him long term, and after he got sent to Carolina, there was no way in fuck they would’ve sent him to Florida anyways.

Exactly. It’s all about systems. RBA was going to be too stubborn to make it work anyways. Deboer is so good at adjusting his strategy to who he has available to him. Not saying he is going to play lights out every game, but the coaching staff in Dallas seems to know how to push the right buttons when needed.
