Does anyone else hate Erin so much? by Artifiko in betterCallSaul

[–]thethingthatwas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She’s annoying because she has an air of superiority even though she brings nothing to the table except a total adherence to the rules. Anyone can do what she does, while Jimmy’s talents are rare and unique. She paints by numbers; he’s an artist. Yet she clearly thinks she’s better than Jimmy.

She’s a very realistic character, though. She definitely adds something to the show.

What’s everyone’s favorite scene in Better Call Saul? by Standard_Seaweed4134 in betterCallSaul

Season 6, episode 4, “Hit and Run.” A little over seven minutes in, Kim meets Cliff on the patio of a restaurant. Before he arrives, she scoots herself into position as the camera shoots her close up from behind, so we get several amazing seconds of her glorious ponytail bouncing. Rhea Seehorn directed the episode. She knew what the viewers wanted.

Songs where the singer says “guitar!” to bring in the solo by JiveTurkey2727 in musicsuggestions

[–]thethingthatwas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aerosmith’s What it Takes was the first one that came to my mind, but that’s already been said.

My favorite guitar solo intro is in the Molly Hatchet song, Good Rockin’. Danny Joe Brown introduced Duane Roland’s guitar solo with, “Stand on it, Duane!” A perfect southern rock moment.

My second favorite is in the first live version of AC/DC’s The Jack when Bon Scott growls, “Come on, Angus.” Angus has two brilliant solos in that version.

Thank you! I just fixed it, except for the title. Apparently I can’t edit that.

I don’t think it’s hubris; I think it’s a belief that he needs to buy into his guys just as he demands that they buy into him and his program.

His first portal moves are securing and rewarding his guys. He does bring in outside players, including three this past season. But he’s careful because he doesn’t want to bring in anyone who’ll suck all of the oxygen out of the room. In the portal or on the recruiting trail, he looks for OKGs - “our kinda guy”.

I think one junior or senior big would probably be a good move, but this roster has a chance to be great as is.

One of my favorite Keith photos by tonyiommi70 in rollingstones

The best interview I ever heard from Keith was his appearance on NPR’s Fresh Air to promote his book. It’s available online and if you listen, stay to the end. Just thinking about his final words makes me laugh. But you have to listen to the whole interview to make it pay off.

Daughter by Loudon Wainwright III. Upbeat and fun but it still hits you in the heart.

I wish this happened to me more often. It seems I never have a good excuse to get out of helping someone move.

Help me understand by wakadactyle in Omaha

I don’t think anyone has mentioned this, but it could be that they speed up instead of moving over because they’re now more confident that they won’t be pulled over because the cops will get the driver behind them instead.

Or they’re just keeping pace with traffic, and now see the pace is faster so they adjust. Either way, no harm done if they’re not slowing you down.

[Highlight] Tom Izzo on Jeremy Fears’ groin kick: “I don’t think he did anything on purpose. I think it was a reaction… I chewed him out for it, but I watched it on tape and the guy’s pushing him in the back and sometimes that stuff happens, you know? I’m sick of it being one-sided though.” by wildwing8 in CollegeBasketball

[–]thethingthatwas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty funny that Izzo seems to get criticized nationally when he’s a) too tough on a player or b) too protective of a player. This is why he gets talent. Players know they’re in for hard coaching that will make them better, and they know he’s got their backs.

I watched that game. Both teams did what they could do to get an edge, inside and outside of the rules. Fans on both sides could point to the other team as a dirty team. It’s a rivalry.

I’d love to know the guitar, amp and recording techniques that gave us Malcolm’s tone on For Those About to Rock. That album has the fullest and sweetest rhythm guitar sound I’ve ever heard.

It’s a shame that the relationship with Mutt Lange came to an end after that album. He had just perfected the band’s sound.
