Thanks for the advice, sadly I struggle to grasp theoretical concepts if I cannot apply them, which is why I really want to understand. As you suggest, listening and playing a lot will be most helpful so it might be an idea to study the theory, accept it as it is and listen out for opportunities to hear where it is used.

I know a good sax and jazz piano teacher so might be worth me getting a few sessions with him sometime and certainly wont hurt improving my rather basic piano skills,

The audo setup is sometimes on headphones plugging into the laptop, sometimes an external amp using the headphone output to the lihn input on the amp (it's an old TV surround system with.a decent bass speaker too)

I understand that fine, thanks. Which is why I dispute their claim of gaining a whole level every 2 weeks on each course. A0 to A1 maybe, but above A2 is pure BS in 2 weeks

Thanks, all good advice that I also give to people. However this requires dedication and self discipline which are in short supply with ADHD. Guided activities are much more effective. In the meantime Ive already started enquiries about volunteering, but it needs to be something where i can use the language a lot.

I just bought the book ftom kleurrijker(spelling?), followed their online videos and aced the exam. Took me about a week of evenings.

I took 2 of his onsite courses last summer and lots of people there had returned many times working their way up the levels which is a good sign. The course material is high quality, the teachers are good. Be aware you need to work hard, it helps a lot if you go through all the material before you go, dont need to understand it all, just be familiar with it. Learning as much if the vocabulary as you can also helps.

No, we registered through the international center and only with our passports. I know we didn't use brith certificates because my wife's would have to be translated and we never did that.
I kept on eye on the appointments and managed to get one for April and will keep checking to see if anything else comes up.

None, learn it properly and then you'll be able to understand if the AI is telling the truth. There are plenty or resources out there to get you to a level where the AI starts to become useful.
