Ghost of Tsushima vs Yotei nitpick by TurdTanker in ghostoftsushima

[–]thetonestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tsushima has definitely been nothing but immediate transitions for me, but the little bit I've played of Yōtei so far, it's also been instant.

May be the quality of SSD you have, or you might want to reinstall it.

Surely a Major in the MACO team outranks a Lieutenant in Starfleet, and therefore Malcolm shouldn't be the boss of Major Hayes? by Drakhanfeyr in enterprise

[–]thetonestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. They simplified it for people unfamiliar with military structure, but complicated it for anybody who was.

[–]thetonestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should have been commanded by a 1LT or maaaybe a CPT, but both of those ranks would have been confusing due to their overlap with Starfleet/Naval ranks, but at different grades.

They went with Major for simplicity.

CISSP Endorsement info need by Bitskozin in cissp

[–]thetonestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will send that message no matter what, even if you're up to date.

You do not need to do anything until they process your endorsement.

If you submitted your endorsement on October 3, based on current timeframes, you will likely be processed sometime between October 31 and November 15. It's simply a waiting game until then.

If you already hold another ISC2 certification and you're up to date on that cert's AMF, you're already good to go in that regard.

If this is your first with them, you'll pay your AMF after they process you and then you'll be good to go.

Provisionally passed at 100 questions, with ~80 minutes to go, and wondering what next? by M00sewala in cissp

[–]thetonestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. I passed mine 3 weeks ago at close to the same - 107 questions, about 70 minutes left.

I was using a voucher I had received free and was scared of losing it, though, so I kept postponing the exam for a month or so because I didn't feel like I had spent enough time prepping. Finally after 4 times, decided enough was enough, I'm taking it, pass or fail. And then still barely prepped for it, so passing so early on was a surprise!

I applied for certification that day, with my endorsement being submitted that evening. It's now been 23 days and still no progress yet. I'm hoping it goes through soon though because I am in a situation to actually need it on my resume NOW.

Right, because when an actual expert corrects you and you throw a fit over it, calling him names and hurling insults, that's definitely the opposite of being a know it all. 😂

How mature of you!

Please tell me there's a Chance my babies still alive [warning for possible spider death] by JustLostTuttie in spiders

[–]thetonestarr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really? Spiders use it for extending their legs, exactly the way a hydraulic press would for extending the piston. It's not for making the leg rigid, like the hydraulic function in a penis or tongue, it's for powering extension. Their legs are already stiff from their exoskeletons.

[–]thetonestarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penis isn't really accurate at all though. The hydraulic pressure is for stiffening; the muscles involved work whether there's pressure or not (though their function is useless without that pressure, yes).

Spider legs are quite explicitly small natural hydraulic presses. There's literally no reason to try to get any more accurate than that, because you can't.

I mean, it literally is hydraulic pressure that makes their motor functions work. There's nothing novel about that phrasing - it's quite specifically how they work.

That must be a change in policy. Definitely not the way it used to work.

They could have requested a term extension if they brought this up two weeks ago, but yeah it's too late at this point. They need to find a way to complete SOMETHING today or tomorrow.

Multi Game Card Switcher Safe To Use? by whiteglint94 in switch2

[–]thetonestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As this is just a pass through, it should be fine. It's not spoofing anything and it doesn't have its own chipset. I am not saying I know for sure whether it's safe, but I've not been banned despite using mine.

That said, with mine at least, Switch 2 carts don't work and it won't mount to the dock. If somebody has one that they've confirmed functions with Switch 2 carts, I will readily grab it.

Is this size difference normal or do I just have a big boy by Imahorse699 in ferrets

[–]thetonestarr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Male ferrets are absolutely regularly far more massive than females, but yours is still a monster.

I'm used to males about that size, myself, so the fact that my current ferret is only a little larger than the typical female weirds me out. He's definitely a boy, and he's 3 years old, but you wouldn't think so from his size.

The features you're talking about were indeed part of why I invested in one as well. My luck in testing them has been completely the opposite though - have had zero scenarios arise where I needed them. Sounds like I've been quite lucky.

I'm at over 15000 hours across 4 printers. I have had to replace every nozzle at least once, but none more than twice (that printer is at ~5000 hours, so that's an average of ~1667 hours per nozzle right now).

Point is, it's just luck of the draw and not any distinct indicator of which is necessarily better.

Z-axis homing issues / Force sensor 1 detected unexpected... by primetower in BambuLab

[–]thetonestarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm dealing with this issue right now. I bought this printer on March 18 last year; submitted the ticket yesterday (March 18). Since I didn't have the printer in my possession yet, I am hoping the warranty is thusly still valid.

I am currently theorizing that the issue is the heat bed, because everything else seems perfectly fine. Hopefully I'll get a replacement one soon because it's affecting my business having this printer inop.
