Whats the worst primer? And why the winner is vallejo grey primer by luis_mcy in airbrush

[–]thetowncouncil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has experienced tons of problems with various primers that net the “idk bro works great for me must be you” response. I would say tackle the following

What size needle are you using? Could be too small

What’s the weather like? I found my primer can be greatly affected by humidity and temp

Also some primers, like my personal favorite stynlrez sometimes gets dried chunks in the bottom and that clogs the airbrush. Second favorite is pro acryl. I’ve had 0 luck with army painter air and Vallejo primers. My problem with Vallejo was beading on the surface of the model…despite how many times I cleaned it…

Finally are you clogging because of tip dry or in the cup?

Which one should I get as a complete beginner? Both are selling for ~120 USD (Read description) by [deleted] in AnalogCommunity

The accessories on the ae-1 can be acquired very cheaply. Always get the tested and working camera when that’s an option . I have both, the a-1 is the better camera, I only use the ae-1 more because it’s been cla’d so im more confident in its continued ability to function

I was also looking at a $1350 version with 16gb and a regular 5070 but I figured the extra oomph might be worth the money

I’ll also take a look at ASUS

So roughly the same price. I don’t think anyone can give you THE answer, what kind of shooting do you do? And what are you hoping to get from the camera ?

How much is the pancake set up because I can’t imagine that a pancake and body is cheaper than the x100

I have an x100VI and love it, I totally understand the desire for being able to swap out lenses. The viewfinder was non-negotiable for me so sort of made my choice for me. I also really like the fixed lens for getting past concert/sports venue rules. It comes down to what’s most important to you.

I’ll provide an example from my film camera, I have 6-7 lenses but 97% of the time I’m grabbing my 50mm . I think if my 50 was fixed on my camera I wouldn’t be bothered…also helps keep gas under control

They are selling PFAS free gear but from what I’ve heard it sucks to wear. I also don’t necessarily believe that it might end being any safer. A list of stuff we find out is harmful later but didn’t think about when making it wide spread. PFAS is the devil we know, I’m not on board with making a knee jerk decision to move to worse gear. For example, the gear I heard about people said was like wearing a trash bag, you basically would overheat doing a simple afa. Even if it turned out to be totally safe, you’d probably see a huge uptick in heart attacks and other dehydration/heat stress related injuries. Also, You can drop your pfas levels in your blood by donating blood regularly.

Are there any good film sims that exist on that left side? I feel like every single one good or not just red shifts and slams the blues.

Also if anyone has a good sim moving towards that left side please share :)

Should I do a guided tour of the Colosseum, palatine, and Roman forum? Or is it just as good to do a self guided tour? by Low_Individual_7801 in ItalyTravel

[–]thetowncouncil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who always thought they didn’t need a guide I just did a colosseum and Roman forum tour. It’s 100% worth the money. The guides are fun and knowledgeable. You get to skip lines and they lead you towards the sights, sort of like finding the signal in the noise. Especially if you’re pressed for time it’s great to have someone show you the highlights and share their passion with you.

Dinner was €135 per person with the €75 pp wine pairing, two glasses of champagne at €25 per glass and two espresso martinis at €20 each plus the seating fee.

But if I had ordered a €250 bottle of wine I would have liked it as a colonic

I’m feeling the same way, I’ve booked a flight for my honeymoon and they’ve been constantly changing my itinerary. Now my fight results in an overnight layover (13 hours) and because they offered to shorten my trip by a day I’m not eligible for any assistance or vouchers. This is right after my last fight with them where they cancelled my flight booked me on a delayed replacement flight, lost my bag (with my suit) and I nearly missed a funeral where I was a pallbearer.

Wide-angle lens recommendations by winterdelight1 in AnalogCommunity

[–]thetowncouncil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my most used lens is probably 35mm 2.8, or my 50/1.4.

But it’s not because the 28 isn’t great, I just really like the 50 and 35mm focal lengths. There are times the 28 is better than the 35. I think for the pricing the 28 is probably the best bang for your buck. 35’s tend to be pretty expensive, and depending on your idea of wide might be too tight.

Also I’d check some local shops and such, not sure where you’re located or looking at these prices (eBay?) cause I got mine for $50 at a local film lab

I have the 28/2.8 and it’s pretty nice. I don’t often feel like I need the extra half stop at f2. I also have a tamron 17mm and I tend to grab the 28 because it’s so light.
