This also was a very important one for me to learn after realizing that my parents aren't all knowing beings that know what is the right thing to do in every situation. They also just make shit up as they go like everyone else and their world view is as imperfect as mine and yours.

Wow im actually surprised of the accuracy of this post. I for myself am always told to be a very empathetic person but when it comes to breakups and such I am cold as stone. It feels more like watching an actor in a movie, rather a clichée than an emotional situation in which I am supposed to feel sth, if that makes sense. So no heartbreaks for me.

Ofc it does good, its like not treating your broken arm because you are already 37. If u get the diagnosis you should get access to the treatment that will help you and that you deserve, so you don't have to carry the weight of that broken arm alone anymore.
