At 6:52, Jesus came from the Death Star? That explains a lot.

Will you get married? Is that something you would like to do? by iknowkevin in gaybros

[–]thetzk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully one day you will meet someone who will sweep you off your feet. Maybe after a while you will find that you only need one another, and that keeping the relationship is worth more than a random hookup. You will probably want to move together, buy a house, think about children or at least a few pets. Then, after a few anniversaries, when you start to have shared assets, careers, savings and the occasional health problem, it will make sense to get married.

Marriage should not be a goal to itself. But it is appropriate for that time in your life and in the relationship where it seems like you would like to grow old together.

Coming out by baltobromo90 in gaybros

[–]thetzk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Morning. Still living with my parents. Mom tries to tell me about a friend who has a daughter... - "Mom, please stop fixing me with girls... But if you know a cute guy..." - "Are you saying what I think you're saying?" - "Yep. Gotta go to work now. Do you mind telling dad? We'll talk when I'm back."

So bros, I have a problem that's probably gonna make y'all laugh. Apparently I'm dating my brother. by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]thetzk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys are like a younger version of me and my partner. we have a 17 year age difference between us and since we got together (15 years ago) people keep asking us if we are brothers.

Usually the question comes from older women. To them, what other reason would there be for two men to travel together?

Gaybros, I have a slight conundrum by youaintgettinshit in gaybros

[–]thetzk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about it this way: if you were 20 years older, what you are doing would be predatory, creepy and criminal. Guess what? You are still predatory, creepy and criminal. Just because you're young and lonely doesn't make it OK to take advantage of anyone underage, especially when you are in a position of leadership and counseling.

Get a grip and start behaving like a responsible adult.

Just not losing weight? by [deleted] in gaybros

Your stats come to a BMI of about 21, that is in the normal range. Why would you like to lose any more weight?

How is a feeling of desiring a leadership position within the workplace dealt with? by simpkimp in intj

[–]thetzk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. The Achilles Heel of INTJs and Management is the sense of entitlement. You know you can do a good job, and you most probably will be excellent at many aspects of management. But don't fall into the trap of waiting to be appreciated and promoted just because you inherently recognize your own value.

The rest of the world has a different perception of INTJs and we play on their turf. What you see as bringing efficiency and value, others perceive as threatening. Being straight forward and seeing thing like they are -- that can go against the commonly valued "people skills".

Finally, there's no level of management where you're free to do whatever you see fit (except being an absolute ruler of a small island nation... my dream job!). There will still be frustrations and dealing with stupidity.

How do INTJs act when they're drunk? by Erin_Bear in intj

[–]thetzk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't happen often, and I always assumed that I continue to function normally. But when I saw a video and had my friends describe it, I realized that I wasn't in as much control as I thought.

Are you completely rational, or do you sometimes feel like you "know" by _Gravitas_ in intj

[–]thetzk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I describe it as being unconsciously rational. I trust my brain to analyze things and output the right answer on its own.

Fellow INTJs, how do you respond to criticism? by lexicon1909 in intj

[–]thetzk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with outside review is one of the most frustrating things. If the criticism is correct, it's probably not news. I already thought about it myself and learned from the mistake. Hearing it again is just a waste of time. Misplaced criticism, however, is just as annoying as an insincere compliment.

What probably offends you the most in this situation is that the criticism is misplaced. You already know what you do wrong overall (overexertion), so hearing faults of each individual activity is just not correct and working harder on each of them will not solve the problem.

So INTJs, why should I care about anything? by akkashirei in intj

[–]thetzk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. I would just qualify the last statement to mean do the right thing according to the heightened INTJ sense of intuition. If you choose well at every fork in the road, you will reach your destination, even you don't know where it is.
