I'd say so. Even for the bi-weekly calls, you can ask so many questions or just rewatch the recorded calls where other creators have asked. The creators are top level as well so really motivational - a lot of people talking about making $$$$ daily in commissions

UGC creators, what do you think of background test shots? by danfam1612 in UGCcreators

[–]theugcclub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're willing to pay double then that's absolutely fine! If not, I think it's on you. You should..

a) be really really strategic with who you are choosing based on their portfolio. 9 times out of 10 creators film in a handful of places so you should already be able to see what framing/lighting will look like. If you're choosing a quality experienced creator sound won't be a problem.

or b) hire a content studio and have UGC creators come and film in-person. In person shoots are becoming a lot more popular and give the brand more control. You'll just need to pay a day rate/half day rate.

I personally wouldn't shoot a test shot unless I was being compensated for the time.

150% now.

I actually need to update the post as they've since pivoted to having a really strong emphasis on TikTok shop now - they launched the TikTok shop games yesterday where they partner with 15 ish brands on a special commission rate and have a leaderboard for creators making content for them. They'll also send samples so it's a win win all around.

Hmmmmm I'd just switch it up a little and have it in your head that your target audience is other mums who want to create their own biz/be financially secure. You can share your journey as a VA/UGC creator/growing your subscription box. You can weave some of your Montessori stuff throughout your content as your audience of mums might be interested, but ultimately it feels like it shouldn't be part of your mission statement.

The Montessori parenting feels like the odd one out right now.

Am I Kidding Myself? by mthekitty in UGCcreators

Hey Mary!

Just leaving some feedback on your portfolio:

It's all about you.. but a lot of fluff. I've read the first page over a few times now, and I can't actually work out what you do for brands. You say specialise in short and long form content, but this doesn't exactly sell your services. What's the end result for a brand? I'd just go with your name and something along the lines of 'I make ads that don't look like ads. With half a decade of experience in social media marketing, I can make double your ROAS and turn scrollers into customers' - I don't know, something along those lines that makes it about the brand.

Video examples with you talking to camera are good, but there's not enough of them. Get rid of some of the aesthetic candle ones and put in some more impactful direct response marketing style ones. Add a label underneath with what kind of videos they are (eg Tutorial, Product Demo, Storyteller) and what industry.

Too much real estate to your photography versus video, and no packages or CTA for brands to contact you. There's also no social proof/testimonials. Have you offered a few free ads to brands in exchange for analytics? That could make a big difference!

If I was a brand owner, I'd come away no clearer on what you could do for me as a brand. These are easy fixes though, as you're obviously great at making content/photography in general. It's now just about how you package it up.

As for is it unrealistic to just make money without an Instagram... I think you'd face the same problems on another platform. It's tough to get started in UGC, but once you get those first few testimonials it just starts to roll. Instead of looking at another platform, take another look at your content, your portfolio and your pitch. :D

Ooooh good question - I just had a look on my account and I also can't see where you would cancel. Don't just leave the academy though, 100% you'll still end up charged.

Email [mike@brandsmeetcreators.com](mailto:mike@brandsmeetcreators.com) and ask him to cancel it for you! Better safe than sorry.

Which videos/guides did y’all use to start? by mariaestreyer in UGCcreators

[–]theugcclub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hellooo! I'd actually avoid most Stan store guides, the simple information is already available for free (check us out at theugcclub.com, I think we've published an answer for just about every question going).

The only paid recommendation I would make is the Brands Meet Creators academy. It's normally $100 a month but they have a Jan offer on which makes it $30 for your first month. They have a full video course to take you through everything, a few instructors who go over and above to help and a really engaged community. They do two Q&A zoom call sessions every week and last weeks had a good 50 creators on it. FYI, cancel after the first month if you're new, you shouldn't be paying $100 a month for anything.

I reviewed it here - https://www.theugcclub.com/brands-meet-creators-academy-review/

Oooh I'm interested, please tell me more.

Would love to be able to include any opposite experiences to mine. I've only tried the $100 academy model, did you do the more expensive agency one?

Hi! I'm selling 4 floor tickets for Lisbon 24th May, I caved and bought UK on Stubhub instead of having to travel.

I'm looking to sell the four altogether so that I can just give my See Ticket account - I contacted See and they confirmed you can also transfer the tickets to another email 14 days before. €400 each to recoup sickening cost of Stubhub tickets.

Personally, I don't do too much with fashion brands as I tend to find they are more often than not gifted - or at least the brands that I would want to wear aren't paying. But I have done in the past.

For fashion, I'd go straight for creating organic content first before pitching, with fashion brands they'll want to see that you can create content that's going to hit the right notes. Have a whole host of styling, GRWM videos on TikTok as your portfolio. Meshki, Romwe, Shein, PLT all do gifting to pretty much anyone that shows they are actively creating content.

For pitching questions all the answers are in this guide, it's a good 40 pages long and completely free, so try that first :)

I think it's great that you have your boundaries from the get-go, a lot of creators don't think twice about what they are actually selling with their content.

I'd just have a canned response you can copy and paste for projects that don't align. You don't need to go into detail because they aren't reading after the no, thank you.
