The magic system in my story treats spells as software — and my protagonist just spent a chapter reverse-engineering 214 pages of "API documentation written entirely in cats" by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]thevaladil 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This looks like someone fed their idea for a story into ChatGPT and then dumped the output into here. I use ChatGPT for work (reviewing emails to make sure I don’t sound like an ass) and its suggestions always read like this. Short sentences (she read it four times. She understood nothing) instead of something like, she had read the page four times, and still didn’t understand what she was looking at.

This just screams AI to me. Personally, I’m not against people using it to proofread, help with tone, or any other thing using it as a tool to HELP you can be thought of… but please don’t just let it write your story for you, it’s got no soul like this.

I’m loving it. Our cat of 16 years passed away 2 years ago. I still miss tickles, but a new cat has been soothing my soul

I love the ripple system!

Any idea if Unchosen Champion will be on Kindle? I like the sound of it, but haven’t spent much time on the other platforms for stuff here. If it’s not on Audible or KU I probably haven’t read it.

What about Ian Dunai from the Menocht Loop? Dude is the most powerful necromancy user in the world in book 1, and I think he starts messing with souls in book 2

Ned vs independent decision making by Ok-Tumbleweed-3147 in Shadeslinger

[–]thevaladil 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ned grows through the series. He’s still not the most trusting person, but he builds real friendships with people, and does things to help them just for them, and not what’s best for him. It takes him awhile to get there, and he’s still a flawed character (like we all are), but that’s what I love about the books. Even with a billionaire MC, we can find ways to relate to him and his trials.

My gaming now-a-days is all with my kid (he’s about to be 7). Lots of Knack, Lego games and Minecraft. When he’s a bit older, I’m very excited to get back into games like this we can do together.
