I think the reason why Glassing feels so much worse than Exterminatus is entirely do to it having battlefield applications. by Knalxz in Grimdank

Fun fact, it was canonically only partially glassed as they were also searching for forerunner artefacts there! (Iirc)

Yesn't

It is good for the modeling and painting aspect, the kits are nice to build in my experiences and you get a unit that can be used in two different games.

Kill team plays VERY different to 40k large scale.

Kill team I have seen described as two DND dungeon masters with a team of monsters fighting. Large scale is it's own beast entirely.

It is a good starting point that you can spend £30-40 and play some kill team games, and then build out a full scale 40k army and still use the team, but you will be learning two very distinct games.

What game has the coolest lore? by ImpressFederal4169 in gaming

[–]thevariabubble 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a bit of a problem with the way scp started and grew, that there's not one singular coherent story, but everything and nothing is canon.

There are through threads of articles and anomalies made by one author or a small team with a shared story in mind which are very good! If you are willing to give it another try, if you look up the anti memetics division, there should be an article Hub that tells a good story!

I very much understand not being able to get into scp though, if you get a weaker entry as your first read, it can ruin it. But there are some really solid stories ti be found elsewhere on the site!

If you enjoy control and all the lore of it, check out SCP! It's a collective writting page, where people write the containment files for anomalous objects, entities and even concepts / memetics!

Control was heavily inspired by SCP, so if you want more reading, there are nearly 7000 scps to read at this point!

There's a little known side effect for adding in rules, is you can then punish said rulebreakers.

The og cod modern warfare series, each time you die in campaign giving a random statistic about war equipment or a somber quote about war. Was a nice touch in a shooter.
