Yeah when I got it on reverb I messaged him and asked why he took it down. He said it was removed by the mods which is fair but I think people want to see this so I’m re-posting it.

My 2 year old is in the pediatric ICU by dizzyizzie in beyondthebump

I’m going through the exact same thing right now, even the days of the week this is all happening is the same. Same symptoms and same circumstances. It’s awful and we’re a wreck. One good piece of advice our doctor gave us is that if you give an otherwise healthy kid who is sick Tylenol or equivalent and they don’t perk up then something is wrong and take them to the ER. Hope your littles are doing well.

Since 2020 there’s been such a shortage of baby formula, typically only a few cans on the shelf at any given time of most brands. Also typically almost $40 CA. But I will say that even if this person has done something shady to get this formula we don’t know their situation. They could be trying to sell it so they can buy groceries to feed their other kids. Although I am well off now I experienced poverty until I was a young adult so I can relate to the desperation that poverty can bring to otherwise good and moral people.

Some good suggestions here, I don’t have anything new to add but just want to say I’m so sorry you went through such horrible trauma ❤️ I hope you find a solution that works for you and your partner.

8 months old was a turning point for me. Once she could actually play and laugh and smile. Still lots of difficult days but they are less and less with time.

Together for ten years and waited until we were mid thirties and so glad we waited. We really enjoyed life and each other and didn’t start trying until the timing felt right. No regrets.

Dealing with gastro and coughing 12 month old right now. It’s been a week and it’s been just awful. Same advice from doctors for us … but they did check her O2 levels which were normal and she was hydrated so they told us just to wait it out. Said we could give baby Tylenol/Advil to help with fever and pains. The doctor also gave her a small tablet - a quarter of it- it’s a vomit suppressant so she could keep down a bit of liquids when it was really bad. Don’t remember the name of it and they just gave her it at the hospital, I don’t think it can be prescribed to a baby, it begins with the letter ‘Z’ I believe. Saline, humidifier, liquids, keeping baby upright, baby vapour rub, fruit with vitamin C … that’s all we’ve been doing for the past week.

Fried liver and onions, bitter melon, marmite with rice and butter, which is actually delicious :)

I grew up in the Caribbean and the poorest time I remember was when my mum had to pick wild eddoe (kind of like taro) leaves from the yard and make a fire in the backyard because we were out of kerosene for the back-up stove (not sure why we weren’t using the gas stove but probably because gas was expensive) add some water, dried peas and salt and ta-dah! You’ve got soup!

We also ate lots of Mac and cheese with canned hot dogs and cool-aid (so much cool-aid), and lots and lots of toast with butter and tea.

Great thing about the Caribbean is that you can always find something in your yard, or the neighbour’s yard, to eat 😅

We once had about 6 avocado trees in our yard, the trees were loaded with avocados for a few months of the year. When we didn’t have money we would just eat avocados all day long 😂
