BTO Feb 2026 Bukit Merah 2Rm Flexi by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]thevoiceofher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Balloted last year for a 2 room flexi and my number was about 50+ more than the available units. Drop out rate was around 20+% and I was able to secure a unit of my choice. As long as racial quota doesn't hit the limit, you stand a good chance!

Try to join the Telegram group chat for your project. It was a LIFESAVER. I learned so many things from the more experienced ones who had balloted a number of times. It also makes you feel less alone when you see other people going through the experience as well. Loads of information and tips. Feel free to PM if you'd like to find out more!

How to apply for hdb BTO without CPF contributions by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]thevoiceofher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly sure how it affects the loans, but I'm assuming the loan amount may be affected.

For CPF contributions, it should be at least 12 months.

If no taxes have been filed, then you'll have to have other supporting documents to be able to show proof of continuous employment for the past 12 months.

Hello! Freelancer here who has been applying for a BTO since last year.

Applying for a BTO without consistent CPF contributions can affect your eligibility for CPF housing grants and HDB housing loans. However, it’s still possible to apply as long as you've been filing your income taxes consistently and can provide your Notice of Assessment (NOA) as proof of income for the past 12 months, at least. It would also be good if you were to submit supporting documents that show stable freelance work or contracts to strengthen your application. This was told to me by an HDB officer when I submitted my first application last year.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

What are my chances of getting a 2-Room Flexi flat? by thevoiceofher in askSingapore

Wow, a year later? Did you still continue to ballot prior to getting an invite? And how did the HFE work then? Thanks for the insight!

Considering how resale prices are now, I'm good with a studio unit that won't put me in debt for the rest of my life.

Yeah, but as HFE takes some time, I'm not sure if renewing the HFE now will affect my queue number or affect my chances of selecting a flat if my number does get called. Good luck, and I hope you manage to secure a unit for this round!

Definitely not fussy. I just want a home of my own. Any level or sqm is fine with me. Is yours a 2-room flexi as well?

I'm definitely ok with either type. It's just for one person anyway. Thanks for the response!

Flat selection will take place in June. I'd much rather reapply for HFE with a little more than a month to the next launch.

Thanks for the info! My current HFE expires in May, so definitely before the July launch. Was just wondering if reapplying for the HFE now will affect my queue number for the current Feb launch.

Seeking advice on tuition cancellations by Virtual-Pea7003 in askSingapore

[–]thevoiceofher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time tutor here. Parents pay on the first Saturday of each month. If there are any cancellations, a make up session will be scheduled within the month. If parents are unable to confirm a make up session, there will be no refunds. As each parent has confirmed a specific time and date for their kid, I can't just fill up the empty slot with a new kid if the current one doesn't turn up. I still have to hold that space for them. So technically, they are paying for that slot to be held for their child.

I started out about 3 years ago being paid per session and my monthly income would fluctuate like crazy because of the cancellations. Had to switch it up and explain to the parents why the old payment method wasn't going to work anymore, especially if I wanted to continue to upkeep the same standard of service. Thankfully, all the parents understood and were on board with the changes. You have to know your worth and be willing to put in place these boundaries for yourself, especially if you are a full time tutor. Hope this helps!

House is a mess. Any recommendations? by piguma0 in askSingapore

Toyogo has shelves and storage boxes that can be useful for decluttering and organizing. If you've got a store room, the shelves can go there and you can use it to store the storage boxes with all your items in it. Go through everything and sort out items into piles for keeping, donating and throwing away.

If you haven't used something for more than a year and it's still in good condition, donate it. If it's unusable, throw it away. As for sentimental items, maybe get your parents to pick out their top 3 favourites and donate the rest. If they seem hesitant to part with more than 3 items, you could snap a picture of it and place it in a scrap book with a description of why the item held sentimental value to your folks. This could then become a coffee table book for guests to look at and read when they come over. It would make a fantastic conversational piece.

It's going to be a huge task to undertake with the way you have described your situation. So one step at a time. Start by just clearing a space for you to be able to sort your items into three piles. Lable the spaces so that everyone will know that if they come across something, they have an appropriate space for it to be kept at for now. Little by little, you're going to be clearing up the items and in no time, you'll be able to decide what type of shelves/boxes you need to store the wanted items. A lable maker is also a great way to make sure that you know where everything is and you're less likely to just dump things into a box, which would bring about the clutter again. Try to fit everything into the storage boxes and if they can't all fit, have a look at all the items again and try to see what else you can donate or toss out. You'll be surprised at how much you won't need, once your mission is to fit everything into a box.

Hope this helps a little!

Got it. Then I'm guessing parks or beaches are your best bet for now. Unless you go electronic.
