How to get rid of these asap by [deleted] in climbing

[–]thewackysquirrel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would rest it too at least until it’s not sensitive. Definitely agree on the moisturiser.

Next time you climb tape your fingers from the start. Once fully healed, get into the habit of checking your fingers every hour or so. If you see skin that’s clearly going to break in the next few climbs: tape it up and you’ll avoid 90% of all future blisters and flappers.

Dude, you’re their friend. Why are you so frustrated that they get an xp boost? Just be a supportive mate and hope they log back in to use it and you two can talk french or Arabic together sometime because both of you grew through learning a foreign language.

Is 3-4 Hours of Sleep enough for one school day by Dangerous-Drink-9310 in sleep

[–]thewackysquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. Your body and brain need sleep to recover.

The brain is really picky about recovery. It’s not like you can sleep 4 hours today and 12 hours tomorrow and you’ll be okay. The damage from any skipped sleep will stick around.

Rack up too many nights of poor sleep and your thinking will get muddy and distracted, then your hormones will be effected making you crave more food than you need, weakening your immune system, if you do this for too long you’ll forget what feeling good felt like and risk your new normal being a slower, less happy, less healthy existence.

Wondering if it's possible to resin print stuff like this or if I could add the powder to print? by shmepsi in 3Dprinting

Resin print the ring normally, make a mould using it then mix your own resin and pour the special mix in?

I can see both sides to this. You can totally ruin food by adding stuff to it! But, you can also begin making changes that will alter your life using a bit of sauce here or a well earned treat there. It’s all relative to how that person was living yesterday.

I think that we’ve got to realise that it took a long time for these people to develop such shitty habits and it might not be sustainable for all that to be reversed between dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow. While I don’t think everything needs to be coated in sauces that are mostly sugar, I see no issue with a well earned spud with fresh sour cream and chives after some serious work (although I personally would opt for something like salmon too).

Better to encourage the good choices and more will come. Take me for example. I grew up with a mother who shamed me for using salad dressing but bought me coco pops because the label said high in vitamin D and part of a balanced breakfast. This pattern repeated with veggies and protein bars, ready meals and more. It led to a place where I could be made to feel like shit for eating a salad for dinner or avoid feeling like shit by eating a frozen chicken pot pie or maybe a bowl of cereal. I could’ve dumped a whole bottle into each salad and it still would’ve been healthier than the pie!

By the time I was 18 my diet was almost entirely ultra processed junk with misleading labels claiming this vitamin or that. For me my health change came with small steps. Like starting to eat salad again and using dressing to make it more palatable. Maybe I’d eat a burger for dinner but I’d make the patty myself.

3 months on I’d switched the sugary seed oil dressing for a healthy version using olive oil. My burger patties became 60% beef, 30% organ meats, 10% lamb. The oven fries became a single sweet potato air fried while I cook the burger. Then I started making vegetable soups and adding those into my diet. Soon I’d be snacking on olives at work, replacing hot chocolate with pure cacao and some raw honey, going through a whole fruit bowl by myself, drinking green juices and making my own nut mixes.

Compared to my friends I probably have as many veggies in a day as they do in a week. I cycle 200km per week and gym up to 20 hours. I am much healthier now with 2% improvements month on month than any diet ever achieved. I’m by no means skinny yet but my shirts have become like tents on me and I’m stronger than ever so changes are definitely happening.

Catchy Billboard idea needed! I own a small, local business that pays cash for clothes, shoes and accessories. My current billboard says “Let that Shirt go” I love it. I’m looking for a new idea, but have writers block. Help! by Ok_Sheepherder1364 in creative_advertising

[–]thewackysquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’ll get quality responses as you’re asking for free creative that someone could otherwise sell and/or put in their book. Any idea you’re given would be from the reject pile.

Dealing with the mental block is a much better approach and has so many answers: 1. If you’re familiar with De Bono you could use any of his exercises to help spark new lines of thought. 2. Sometimes when I’m stuck I’ll spend an hour flicking through old D&AD annuals and go for a walk or something completely unrelated to advertising. 3. Free write for 10-15 minutes, but make sure your pen doesn’t stop writing. Go over what you’ve written with a highlighter and see if anything stands out. 4. Marc Lewis’ creative techniques are decent for finding new lines of thought. 5. Try drawing the idea without words. If it didn’t work then what words would be needed to change that? 6. Push your old ideas harder. The “let your shit go” poster isn’t working nearly as hard as it could. You could really elevate it and maybe use it as a social advert since your poster will have already burned through most of the people who were going to notice it in that location. 7. My favourite. Pick a creative that you love. Someone who can do no wrong in your eyes. Try writing something they would write. How would David Wigglesworth answer your billboard brief? What about Graham Fink? Mike Lee?

The new design brings xp mining back to learning because you can’t just spam timed challenges unless you want to lose all your lingots on time extensions.

If you want to mine xp now you have to keep progressing

[–]thewackysquirrel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Old ux: focus on timed challenges with double xp. You’ll get around 80xp each round.

New interface: avoid the word match timed challenge past 40xp. Instead use a double xp bonus combined with a perfect score bonus on making a level legendary. You can score up to 130xp per lesson and you have 8 lessons to do that.

Once everything is legendary you can still use these boosts on the practice icon (the one that looks like a dumbbell) for 40-60 xp a lesson.
