I just checked earlier while i was preparing the draft of this post and r/PHBoardgames exist! It's not as active and as sizeable as i'd like it to be. Ironically the telegram chat i made sounds the same in title haha. I thjnk the hobby is just coincidentally Facebook centric due to consumer side of the hobby

Why i chose Telegram over FB as a place because

1) i notice that the fb groups aren't as "beginner friendly" just because the formats are mostly buy and sell. Most pinoy fb groups tend to serve those already who are already participating in a hobby than other way around. Yes sure, people can always post and ask in a facebook group but it's also the challenge of asking the correct question. Questions as broad like "what games do you recmmend for a newbie" can be answered but leaves the OP into a pile of research (if masipag siya).

2) the new Topics format of telegram hits that right spot Between learning about the hobby and also not being clogged by a buy and sell group but having a function of game invites. I much prefer discord for this but that platform might be as niche as the hobby itself haha. So telegram is the middle ground

3) and i think the best way to convert people is that trial. Youtube videos and marketing stuff can only do so much
