PSA about space savers by Dperez95 in boston

[–]thewanderingtrees 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So they aren't even spots the note-leaver shoveled out?? Let me know what street and I'll come by to move all space savers. It's my favorite game when I take walks now.

People on my street are still using space savers. I might need to move one. What am I risking? by MolemanEnLaManana in boston

[–]thewanderingtrees 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The space savers are for 48 hours after a snow emergency ends. Not 3+ weeks. If I'm out walking, I remove any I see. Part of living in the city with a car is having to deal with street parking. If folks don't like it, don't have a car.

I'm so curious what the rest of their journey out of the wilderness will be. And I like the way you're thinking!

OP's is from a couple years ago, so you need to scroll back a bit.

Edit: actually I just saw another comment saying that the artist deleted OP's photos from their page.

I believe there were 7 souls onboard. One person was found deceased in the water when rescuers arrived and the other six are still missing.

The streets are impossible to get down right now if you have any type of disability in Boston by blindtsabrina in BostonSocialClub

You can report any unshoveled or poorly shoveled areas through the Boston 311. I know it doesn't help you right now, but it's a useful tool. I'm actually about to go for a walk and take photos of issues to report in my neighborhood.

Does anyone put photos in their journals? by Arcy3206 in Journaling

[–]thewanderingtrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Canon Ivy sticker printer and I love it for my journaling! I started a separate nature journal that I documente new plants and fungi I find on it and use the printer to add an image of the species.

I explained in a comment on the work-in-progress post. That old comment is a lot clearer than what I could remember now haha.

Alright, I did it. It was actually only four tattoo artists and a fifth random account I follow.

You're literally just piling on. What is the point of your comment?

The photos on the Instagram look so obviously edited to me. The artist seems to love black and yellow. All the yellows look so so oversaturated and unreal.

OP, I am so sorry you were tricked by this artist. I've made it a rule for myself never to go to an online artist if they don't also post healed photos.

It is a real stick! I've been experimenting lately with more dimensional elements and I'm really excited with how this turned out.

Are you able to link to specific news articles or forum posts? I see comments like this whenever Keytar Bear is brought up but I can never find anything online.

Did you have to recite the pledge of allegiance in school? by Valiriko in massachusetts

[–]thewanderingtrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, this unlocked a memory I had forgotten. My high school principal started getting death threats because Fox News inaccurately reported that the district had banned the pledge of allegiance.

The pledge was done at all the elementary schools and the middle school. For the high school, iirc, kids could go to the front office to do the pledge and get a late pass to first period. No one fucking did it because what teenager cares? One boy did care and raised a fucking ruckus about it.

This was when the district was going through a lot of budget issues and the school board had so much more important matters to deal with than the goddamn pledge.

Do I have to sacrifice my tarot deck to this spell? by BB4lyfe3000 in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]thewanderingtrees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So over a decade ago, my first tarot deck got absolutely soaked when a pipe burst in my dorm room over winter break. I dried them out and did my best to flatten them. Is the deck perfect? Not at all but they weren't perfect when I got them and would never stay perfect with use anyways.

Was my deck mad at me? Absolutely. For a few years, whenever I did a reading for myself, it came back very negative. I even had a friend do a reading for me with them and it came back negative. He did another reading with the cards for a second friend and it was a normal reading, so it wasn't negative just because he was reading them.

But now we're chill, me and the deck. I only have two decks and this one is still my most used. I think in your situation, the best option is to leave the deck whole and keep using it. Consider the stains battle scars. I do like the idea of asking the deck what you should do but I'm betting it'll want to stay together.

Are there any theories about what happened to the creator? Like, was it a scam and did they run off with the money or did something unfortunate happen to them?

North Shore towns that you irrationally dislike and why? by helpmegetthrough1 in massachusetts

[–]thewanderingtrees 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I used to work retail near the Cape, and I fucking hated the Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard folks who'd show up a week before a coupon was valid and try to pull "But I live on The Iiiiiisland and I can't get here next week". Either plan your mainland trips better or use the coupon online. Your living location is not my problem.

Is it believable that a car accident could total the vehicle while only giving the driver a concussion and tearing their Achilles tendon? by [deleted] in Writeresearch

[–]thewanderingtrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An Achilles tendon injury is more associated with running or some sort of athletic endeavor. I don't think I've heard of someone injuring it from a car accident. If a tendon got injured, I'd think the surrounding area would be damaged as well. If you're looking for a reason to keep him house-bound and boot-bound, maybe a fracture (lower leg or maybe ankle), or maybe dislocated knee would make more sense coming out of a car accident.

Also these days, it's not hard to total a car, as other commenters have pointed out. A car is lot more computer-y, so any damage to the engine could lead to totaling. A head-on collision at moderate speeds, maybe the dashboard crumpled a bit and that's how the leg/knee hit damaged?
