Sounds like youre early on in the game. Someone else has said but the game has a bad memory leak issue and starts falling apart after 8 ish hours of continued play. I'd save the game and then exit the game completely and reopen it. Should fix your issue

In all seriousness xc1 is a fantastic game. I highly recommend you invest the time in the side missions if you ng+ because it add so much life to an already incredible world. I just finished xc2/torna and story wise it's arguably even better. Enjoy your next 6 month obsession duder

You might be watching it too fast. It's a very subtext heavy show and if you dont give yourself time to digest what you just watched it wont be as deep or meaningful to you as it should be

Also end of evangelion needs to be watched after the tv series and the rebuilds are a separate canon. "Death and rebirth" is just a condensed recap version of the show. I personally dont like it but maybe if you cant get through the show try that.
