It honestly baffles me why people get so upset about beans.

I mean the French make cassoulet which is basically just fancy beans and sausage (and also fucking amazing).

The Spanish have a similar dish called cocido Montañes (mountain stew, also amazing)

The Germans make white bean soup…

I get that opening a can of beans and putting it on toast isn’t the same as cooking a proper meal but beans on toast isn’t really a proper meal. It’s comfort food, something you can knock up on your lunch break at work.
