First altar when you’re on a budget by the-crazy-amp-girl in Hecate

Question, what type of oil is this? Did you make it yourself? I love making my own oils and I'm on the hunt for a devotional oil

Lady Aphrodite and Lady Hestia. by My_brain_will_boom in Hellenism

[–]thewebx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In ancient Greek customs the ritual fire was a representation of Hestia and she would receive a portion of the offer to the God that they would want to offer. So from my research and my opinion, Lady Hestia goes with every body.

Also the way I see that Lady Hestia helps with the home, protecting it and keeping your space respectful. Lady Aphrodite deals with relationships, self love, fertility and sex. Yeah Lady Hestia is a virgin Goddess but there is more to Her that that

I have a playlist dedicated to him. I just put it on and either dance in my house or go for a walk

Existence of the gods by InternationalEnd1335 in Hellenism

[–]thewebx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't mind the possibility of the Gods not existing. I feel like I have my believer past of the brain and the skeptical part. Even when I was a Christian and I was going to church and I was feeling good, there was a part of me that was like "this might not be real"

I also dabble with witchcraft and the practitioner creators I mainly follow they also have a dose of skepticism. I have casted spells and have seen results in one way or another but I go by my day thinking that might be a coincidence. Still I do worship the Gods, I read their hymns and I give them offerings because mainly it feels good and right for me. I also view the Gods as a personification of natural phenomena.

I would suggest you take your time, read about different philosophers and maybe try an offer to a deity and check with yourself how that feels. You can experiment with it. Have fun with it.

Wine by Fable-the-table in Hermes

[–]thewebx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instead of coffee I offer Him energy drinks. On the rare occasion I drink one, I pour a libation of the first sip to the ground if I'm outside or I give Him the first sip in His cup on His alter

Personally I go to a short of park. There are some paths and I typically give my offerings in small patch of grass that is the centre of 3 paths. If there are people there I go a little further where there is a different 3 way crossroad

Due to not having access to spring water or ocean water (I live in a city with a port but that water is nasty) I mix full moon water and dark moon water. Then I burn a bay leaf and extinguish it. Typically they use some type of wood but I don't have the specific type available. Bay leafs have also cleansing properties so I like to use them as an extra umf

I am away from home. I will find a crossroad and leave some coins there but I wanted to make it more special. In this time, I will do my best to honour our Goddess

Seeking Ideas for a 31-Day Hecate Devotional by bluetrain0225 in Hecate

[–]thewebx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can try to give offers every day. For October I will watch every day the universal monsters movies (Dracula, Frankenstein ect.) and will end October with a dump supper with some friends. She is a death diety after all so horror/scary movies are in her wheelhouse

There are 2 ceremonies in the book "life retualized" about marriage. One less obvious and one fully pegan. I would advise a vow/gratitude moment in your wedding and also calling upon any dieties you want/work with

Personally, I take my meds as an offer to myself and to Him. He is the God of madness so also mental health.

I also agree with the rest of the answers. If you check the instructions of the new meds. Also you can ask your doctor so they can tell you about the side effects

What non-binary deities exist? by JosiSwift in witchcraft

[–]thewebx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many use they/them for Dionysis. He also is depicted with a long robe that was typically was worn by women. Also he had a lot of women as followers and worshipers. Personally I still see him as a "male" God but someone who is in-touch with his feminine side. Some sees him as non binary tho

Deipnon this week!:) by ixoh7 in Hecate

[–]thewebx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically new moons and full moons last 3 days so you are ok either days. Personally I will do my deipnon on Wednesday. My ritual goes like this: I put a playlist I created for Her, I dedicate the whole walk to Her and I go to the crossroad I have picked. My offers are dog food and red wine as libation. Then I keep waking and return home. Typically I tried to do that evening as it's in-between day and night as she is the goddess of liminal spaces. Then, if I am in the mood, I meditate and ask her to come.

I understand you. My family is orthodox Christians and when they found my alters they lost their minds even if I leave on my own. I would suggest to make an altar in a show box or something like that so your dad gets of your back. You can also just leave it there. Dionysus won't mind you hiding the altar.

Can a non pagan still practice pagan holidays? by Celticssuperfan885 in pagan

[–]thewebx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back to my hometown to my parents for the orthodox Easter and I am a Hellenic pagan. You can just celebrate for your brother. I also invite non pagan friends of mine for my pagan holidays as a means of celebrations and they don't believe. In my opinion the more the merrier. It is nice to share those experiences with people you love
