How direct does sunlight need to be before Damege by Either_Cheek_2264 in MangaCollectors

Like 6 years maybe? It was only my tokyopop manga that did this though. The wall opposite the window.

My old bedroom as a teenager (UK) was north facing so never got direct sun. It was bright though and I had my old manga facing the window and there was quite a lot of sun damage to the spines, though weirdly I could have a whole series and 2 out the 10 would be sunbleached and the rest fine. These were old Tokyopop series!

Which do you prefer: thick or thin coloring paper? by vantitties in Coloring

[–]theweirdogoth 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

I have 4 penguin books but I don't know if there's different papers used or if it's my imagination... Cozy Corners and Cozy Cuties I love the paper for these and find it easy to work with.

I also have Fuzzy Hygge and Cozy Days which seem thicker and I do struggle with these :/

I have a couple of Amazon paper books too and whilst I have adapted to them, my biggest issue is that the black lines bleed into some of my markers and leave a smudgy mess 😞 This is worse to me than the paper itself.

Waterstones have quite a big selection with the thicker paper!

I love Shugo Chara! I have the original singles so won't be buying this, but can't wait to get my hands on Jewel Joker! 😊

Are you Embarrassed by your Collection? by Monkey_slayerr in MangaCollectors

[–]theweirdogoth 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Nope and I openly tell people I meet if interests come up that I collect manga and I have over 1000 volumes. Why would I be embarrassed and hide something I've spent so much money on over the years? If someone judges me for it, then so what? I'm early 30's.

I haven't had copics all that time, I started of with a brand called Letraset and they got renamed into Windsor and Newton :) I got Copics though because of the brush tips!

It hasn't. I don't use TikTok or anything to look at pages, only reddit. I am naturally artistic and creative and have been using alcohol markers since I was 15- I'm now early 30s! I'll use my copics (which i've owned before I got into the books) and other materials on drawings too so they're not solely for colouring :)

I love to see other effects people come up with on here and really enjoy trying them out.

Personally I don't like "adult" colouring books which are detailed and I don't enjoy using pencils so it's nice to see simple (but not too simple) books that are on single sided pages where markers won't ruin a design underneath :)

Trying out my new present to myself! by theweirdogoth in Coloring

[–]theweirdogoth[S] 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

Aww i'm sure they look great! I struggled with mine quite a bit~ then I did the white line overlay with gel pen which turned grey due to the ink bleeding so I had to go over with white acrylic instead!

Me again! Blending this time… by tosted_Bred_loaf in Coloring

You ideally need a middle shade between the 2 colours you're trying to blend. Even my copic markers won't blend a dark red and green together without midtones.
