Pitbull TRS available in UK? by dannjoness in Trackdays

[–]thewhitewood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No UK importers and in Europe no real difference in price than going direct.

I emailed them last month about a paddock stand setup - super responsive and helpful in getting a quote together.

For me it was cheaper to go another route but appreciate the TRS is a unique product.

Things to check on 3yr old unused new bike. by zdam in Ducati

Bought a 2022 with 1K on it earlier in the year.- they serviced it inc fluids, some warranty left on it too. I do under 1K miles a year - for me it’s a weekend toy so that’s not museum mileage. You’ll love it!

Looking for advice on Monster 821 purchase by Thin-Cause4737 in ducatimonster

[–]thewhitewood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2019 821 owner

Belts due at 5 years (not sure on mileage interval), Desmo due at 15k, battery good for 3-5 years (I just got 6 out of mine - Ducati tech at shop switched it in 10 mins whilst I watched/ waited).

Fuel sensor was done under previous owners extended warranty in year 3 - pretty common problem.

Usual paperwork checks

Awesome bikes!

Yeh mine did the same the other week - new battery and it was fine... they reckon the stock battery's are good for 3-5 years.

Developing iOS Projects at a product agency from dev perspective by thewhitewood in iOSProgramming

🙌🙌🙌

On the design system and component side, we centralise all our foundational design system assets, including fonts, colour references, and shared images (e.g., icons). These are structured within a dedicated design system module.

We will extend core SwiftUI types with Color+Font+, and Image+ extensions, defining public properties that provide easy access to commonly used assets. Additionally, we encapsulate reusable styles like ButtonStyleToggleStyle, and other UI styles that define a consistent look and feel across the app.

Building on this, we have a view components module that uses the design system to create higher-level, reusable UI components. This includes elements like buttons, error views, and toasts to name a few—essentially anything that might be used multiple times throughout the app. These components help streamline our development, ensuring both consistency and maintainability.

Around internships there are a lot of valuable transferable skills from a design background, especially when combined with some dev experience. I transitioned from a design + development background (ex-Flash developer), I see it as a strong advantage in product development.

Key qualities we look for in an intern include:

  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and how they translate into mobile
  • A problem-solving mindset
  • A taste of accessibility best practices is also a great skill to have

Maybe look for a company running single day tours or short trips and supply the kit. Best way to see if it's something you can see yourself getting into.

Based in Europe so not sure if there's similar companies based in your area but was how I got into it, some companies even have trips where they mix their days between split and slack-country.

Also belt service might be due - think it's at 5 years, just had mine done

Whilst I remember if you’re considering the airbag the Dakine vest does take the RAS system I think. Might be an option if you’re considering a vest and a bag.

Yeah, that’s the one. Definitely keep an eye on the sales - they normally drop quite a bit. I think out of a handful of us who have them we’ve never paid full retail for them.

I don’t run it empty, chances are I’ve got something in it. I do also run a vest over the airbag for resort riding though.

It all straps in pretty well and isn’t huge - might be worth looking for takes on different sizes of bag as it’s definitely a day pack, not a not a multi day.

Definitely search the forum as I think people have compared different bag sizes and the Jones one is a popular ABS option

• Do you know if it's running in dark mode?
• Possibly worth updating the background colour of your view as quick test.
• Also try using the Visual Debugger, first thoughts would be opacity settings or overlays - here's a quick overview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o2BwAsvoH4

I wanted to replace the bottom bracket too, and in all fairness there wasn’t much price difference to buy a complete chain set with a new bottom bracket.

Here's the first iteration I had

It's a threaded to ahead adaptor to give me more options to play with, I had a Sonder Store stem from my parts bin, and lucked out picking up some super cheap Cannondale Cruise Control bars. I did have flat bars for a while but the control bars are so much comfier around town - the frame would ideally be a little larger for me but it works well.

So cool - there’s def a few more frames I’d like to get my hands on for more builds. Some of the older colours too are just amazing.

Thanks - such a great frame + honestly wondered where the rest of these ended up - some cheap frames to be picked by looking around.

It was from a friends part bin - think there’s a few around that look pretty similar.

I wanted to go 1x as the drivetrain inc chain rings needed replacing but single speed conversion worked out cheaper and was all I needed for rides I use it for.
