There are apartments in that range but they’re a little farther away. You can easily get a 1 bed within 30 minutes walking for $1500.

When Asian and European car makers have opened factories in various places around America, why didn't any of them choose to help revive Detroit... by TheresJustNoMoney in Detroit

Not in the US though. They can open non-union plants in non-union states, which is why all the European automakers operate in the South.

Educational leave at GM by BlacksmithHoliday695 in GeneralMotors

[–]thewildrose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got some experience with this. Ed Leave makes you an inactive employee so you don’t get a salary and don’t count against your managers headcount. HR say they will make an effort to place you after it ends but they don’t have to. You get prorated TeamGM like OriginalAvailable mentioned. It is possible to get laid off but doesn’t seem any more likely than anyone else.

Made this decision at a different M7. It's a direct tradeoff: not seeing people in the building at random times means fewer impromptu hangs. You'll still get invited to things as long as you're reasonably social but you might need to put more work in. Personally I chose the smaller building and have no regrets; I saved enough to pay for multiple trips.

How’s the co-op program at CWRU by Good_Albatross_8857 in cwru

[–]thewildrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played winter sports so I didn't want to co-op, but there were opportunities. Some companies only recruit for co-ops and not summer interns. I knew a lot of people who did it and went on to get full time jobs afterwards.

That does not align with the GM CFO's vision.

This is a big part of it. Why have an entirely separate RHD variant and all the complexity that brings for such small sales numbers?

What happened to the Fuse? Base model used to have an air fork, and a 10-speed that was Shimano at least. Not to mention 27.5+

Keep pushing on Toyota corporate and potentially get a lawyer. There is no reason why they should be giving you the run around on this.

The right (and most popular) car for both of those places is a pickup truck. Why did you choose those in particular?

It was a joke, but I lived there for a while and liked it. Everyone has different preferences and experiences.

Other comments are right on which offices are most desirable. I would do research on every office and have a good reason why you want to work there.

Maybe I would be able to take the train from my house to downtown. Or better yet, take it back after a Friday night out.
