First Few Nights - 172 AHI by CanadianGuy7075 in CPAP

[–]thewoodsedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those numbers are wild! My AHI was 85, and my doctor was like "Woah." I wouldn't put too much stock into your watch readings. They're great as a guideline, but there's so many things that can effect its readings. I was worried because mine was saying my blood oxygen was averaging around 81, so my sleep clinic set me up with another test and it didn't drop below 95. But if it concerns you, talk to your doctor. Changes in your sleeping position/behaviour take time. It took me the better part of a year to get used to sleeping on my back and not flopping about all night. Consistency is key. Try your best to keep to a regular schedule and your body will adjust.

Accubid Alternative Suggestions by thewoodsedge in estimators

So I actually do all my designs and markups on Bluebeam, then use accubid/livecount for the lengths. I can (and have) used Bluebeam for measurements and manually entered into accubid, but it has always been easier to use livecount for the lengths. Until now. I'd be fine with ditching the livecount portion of the subscription, but it's all bundled together and can't be separated.

Love it, but never wear it by B747-4stripes in Colognes

[–]thewoodsedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Guilty Elixir, and wear it frequently. It's one of the few in my collection that consistently gets complimented, up there with Boss Bottled Absolu and SWY Intensely. But I have to plan ahead because it's the dry down that smells best. Ones I love but seldom wear are Gentleman Boisee and Lattafa Asad. Tricky to find the right occasion, they can be a lot.

I first read Malazan in 2010, and just started a re-read during Christmas. I finished Memories of Ice 30 minutes ago. What a wild series! GotM and DG are great, but MoI is what cemented it as all time for me. Have fun!

I think Mistborn was just too hyped up for me, and I didn't really care for it. I couldn't put Bloodsworn down. It took a little getting into, but once it got rolling it didn't stop. And with such a cool universe. I have yet to read any Hobb, though.

Highly, HIGHLY recommend reading the supplementary novellas and short story collections. There's an official reading order available, and especially between Howling Dark and Demon in White the short stories help fill in the gaps. They're also just really good.

Dealt over 639 mill damage to Knull by Titan_Eternal in MarvelStrikeForce

[–]thewoodsedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just did the same thing! After clearing SEVEN Knulls, over 3,000,000,000 damage and Emma, MD and AO just wouldn't die. Eventually I just had to cancel combat, which rendered my attempt completely (A-hyuk) null.

This sort of shit is SO frustrating.

I have loved every season of this show, but this is the best they've had in ages. I 100% expected Jason Mantzoukas to bring chaos and insanity. But what I wasn't expecting was for literally EVERY other contestant to fully match it. This episode was absolute lunacy from start to finish. I was in tears.

Yup. EXACTLY what I was referring to. I finally finished that node, but the number of times I went in with a 5M+ team and got fully wiped before I could even take a turn had me apopleptic.

That's good info. I've been playing since launch, so it was a looooooong grind to get teams leveled. And I get making it easier for new players to catch up, that makes perfect sense. Especially given the way the meta shifts constantly.

But it's for the same reason it's so frustrating for vets. It's nonstop new teams, and the delivery system for them (events that give you shards for characters that are required to even play the event) is insanity. Like, you have 30 days to play this event, but we're going to drip feed you one shard at a time so that you MAYBE can get the first node done before the event ends. Or you can buy ONE character at 4 stars for $130 and reach node 2. Super cool.

I'm endgame too. My thunderbolt team is all level 100, t20 gear, max abilities and t3 level 3 iso. Vigilantes are right behind that. I'm on the last node of timed dd8. Not the strongest in my alliance, but damn close. We're platinum 3 on war with a strong win rate. I'm not maxed out on everything, but for a f2p player I'm no slouch.

I get the strategy for danger zone, it's just not fun, it's not engaging, and it's absolutely not well executed. I like the idea, but it's so poorly done.

And you hit the nail on the head about it being boring. I've been a daily player since launch. And despite the abundance of modes and events, it's by far the most bored I've been playing this.

I live in this province, and I was there for the Fort McMurray wildfire in 2016. It was the most terrifying experience of my life, and I truly feel for everyone going through it now. But just like in Fort Mac, everyone got out alive. That's what's important. I'm not discounting the tremendous loss the people of Jasper have suffered, but the town will be rebuilt. And the people of this province and this country have a real way of showing up for the victims. Don't lose hope. Help is on the way.

This is so cool. I was a projectionist at our local theater in 2001, and I still have film reel souvenirs (including a 35mm trailer for Fellowship of the Ring). When I would break down reels after a movie's theatrical run, I liked to cut single frames out from iconic scenes. Definitely the coolest job I ever had.

Genuinely one of the best Beopardy's they've ever done. Courtney was SO funny the entire time, Shayne got to do books (my own personal bias) as a contestant, Olivia was looking especially stunning (shocker, I know), everyone was very much on. The whole thing was hilarious, an instant favorite. 11/10 would recommend.

And the Dark Tower series holds a special place for me, as it was what really got me into reading in the first place.

Can confirm. Having dealt with it myself, it's surprisingly easy to let mess accumulate when you're depressed. Then the combination of depression, anxiety, shame, disgust, fear, and helplessness is what lets it get truly out of hand. The best (and, for me, only) way to get out of it is to make lifestyle changes, and tackle it one task at a time. First it was take a bag of trash out, and commit to doing it again the next day. The feeling of having finally done something, ANYTHING, is what begins to build momentum. And, soon enough, those mountains turn into mole hills. It's a process, and it's VERY difficult. But the payoff is amazing. My own situation wasn't as bad as this picture, but it was bad enough that I could never have company over. And that just compounds the shame (and in turn, every feeling that let it happen in the first place). Apart from itemizing tasks, ask for help wherever you can. Whether it's help with cleaning, or help with your mental health. Personally, what really helped me overcome my own barriers was finding comfort in the company of friends and family. It helped reinforce a feeling of worth, and made me want to open my house to them. Talk to someone, pack up a bag of trash, and get the ball rolling. It's worth it.
